Topic: THE SONS OF NICODEMUS

Text: John 3:1-10

• There are lots of people here that if we check our names in the realm of the spirits, Nicodemus is attached to it because their lives have been engolved or taken over by the spirit of Nicodemus

 

In the church of God, the spirit of Nicodemus is ravaging

 

The Spirit of Nicodemus is the one the Bible refers to as ever learning but not coming to the knowledge of the truth

 

Many who call themselves Christians today are not christians because to be a Christian is to be like Christ

 

WHAT IS THE SPIRIT OF NICODEMUS?

1. It is the spirit that does not want to be identified with Christ/God publicly

2. The Spirit of Nicodemus is the spirit of church goers but not born again

3. It is the spirit that makes one hear the Word of the Lord but cannot understand

4. It is the spirit of leaders in the church that don’t know anything

5. It is the spirit of confusion

6. It is the spirit that has a form if godliness but denies the power thereof

7. It is the power of those that claim to be serving God for years but have no converts

8. It is the spirit that starts at the church and ends in the world

9. It is the spirit of unbelief; the spirit that says, “it can’t be possible”, “it is an exaggeration”

10. It is the spirit of the condemned

 

===> I want to believe that nobody will leave this place condemned in the mighty name of Jesus

 

• You must not leave here today without doing something about what you are hearing

 

• The sons of brother Nicodemus are everywhere today and in the church today

 

My sincere questions for you today are:

1. Are you really born again?

2. Are you a child of God truly and true?

3. Are you sure that if the trumpet sounds now, you will make it to heaven?

4. Are you just hiding in the congregation today?

5. Are you just filling the numbers in the church today?

 

• If you leave here today and you don’t plan to do something about your spiritual life, it’s a pity

 

• No matter how long you have been in the church, no matter how close you seems to be to God; if you cannot be identified with Jesus or Jesus cannot be identified with you, then you should have your name changed to brother/sister Nicodemus

 

HOW TO TERMINATE THE SEED OF NICODEMUS?

1. Genuinely give your life to Christ totally and completely

2. Start identifying with Jesus everywhere you go from now

3. Make it a point of duty to make at least one soul for Christ every week

 

• The truth is this: the more you evangelize, the more you become stronger daily

 

4. Make an impact in the church and in the environment you are living

5. If you leave today and go back in the world to continue in the way of life you have lived before, there is danger because what you have heard today; I pray, will not stand against you on the day of judgment because you cannot say, “you didn’t hear”

 

PRAYER POINTS

Begin to confess your sins and tell the Lord that you don’t want to be brother/sister Nicodemus again

 

1. Powers of the flesh, over my life and destiny, die in the name of Jesus

2. Spirit of Nicodemus, operating in my life and destiny, your time is up, die in the name of Jesus

 

SING: I’ve got my mind made up and I won’t turn back…

 

3. (Pray for a neighbour) Powers, that wants you to leave here condemned, you are a liar, die in the name of Jesus

4. Every power, using me against my destiny, your time is up, die in the name of Jesus

5. Every power of the grave, assigned against my spiritual growth, die in the name of Jesus
