Topic: THE AGGRESSIVE PRAYER OF THE WIDOW (2)
Text: Luke 18:1–5, Revelation 6:9–10, Psalm 94:1-4

We continue from where we stopped last time.
Luke 18:1–5 (KJV) says: “And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.”
We looked at this at the last Power Must Change Hands programme. We considered the prayer of the widow. We said that there are other key strategic prayers like that in the Bible.
Some of these prayers are:
- O God arise, and let my enemies be scattered!
- O Lord, enlarge my coast!
- O Lord, behold their threatenings!
And this one, - Avenge me of my adversaries!
The purpose of this widow’s prayer is to provoke the vengeance of God into action. This prayer is the only prayer point that the dead in heaven are still praying.
Revelation 6:9–10 (KJV) says: “And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?“
The saints that were killed and massacred because they believed Christ were calling the name of Christ in heaven. Their only prayer point is “avenge us of those who killed us.”
You can see from that scripture that it’s not a gentleman’s prayer. Verse 10 says, “And they cried with a loud voice….”
And like I told you last time: you may never find peace in your life until certain powers of darkness are judged and judged thoroughly. Some testimonies will not manifest until the sword of Elijah has moved to cut off certain things.
Some people can be the umbrella of heaven over your head, preventing you from receiving your showers of blessings. They may have to be removed.
In Psalms 94:1-4, the prayer point of the warrior, the psalmist, says: “O LORD God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself. Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: render a reward to the proud. LORD, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph? How long shall they utter and speak hard things? and all the workers of iniquity boast themselves?”
From this scripture, you can see that the concept of vengeance is of God. The martyrs that were killed were asking God to avenge their blood. So God is the greatest avenger. Vengeance belongs to God. But the vengeance remains quiet until it is called for or demanded. You call for it or demand it. Vengeance remains inactive until it is provoked, incited, or invoked. Vengeance is the answer to the proud and boasting enemy. It is that machine gun that makes the wickedness of the wicked expire.
And the truth is this, beloveth: until vengeance answers from heaven, a lot of wickedness will just continue to blossom. Nobody is calling for it. You have to call for it, just like the psalmist and widow called for it. That vengeance is what silences the enemy.
I am praying for somebody here today that, when you cry out for divine vengeance today, all your enemies shall be silenced! In the name of Jesus.
Until vengeance comes to play, the affliction of the righteous continues unhindered, and the enemy will keep boasting that you cannot do anything to them and that nothing can happen to them. And so they are stubborn in their wickedness. Vengeance is the answer to the oppression and destruction of the helpless. It is that thing that sweeps the wicked off their feet. The hard fact is this: no one can resist the vengeance of God.
When we call for that vengeance and it arises, there will be a chain of calamity in the camp of the enemy because the sword of God will be released to devour. Arrows of God will be released to cage all eaters of flesh and drinkers of blood. God is a God of vengeance.
This morning, the vengeance that belongs to God shall arise for you! in the name of Jesus.
Every problem, every trouble, and every death looking for you and your family shall be swallowed by the vengeance of God! In the name of Jesus. Every paralysis around your destiny: I command the paralysis to die! In the name of Jesus.
Any stagnation that you are experiencing in good things, the Lord shall put them to shame! In the name of Jesus.
The voice of witchcraft, the voice of occultism, talking against your life, is nullifies in the name of Jesus.
Anyone who will not let you rest, the Holy Ghost will arrange them out of your sight! In the name of Jesus.
And I decree that under the next 24 hours, vengeance shall answer in your favour! In the name of Jesus.
PRAY: O vengeance of God, arise and fight for me, in the name of Jesus!
But for that vengeance to work for you, there is a condition: you must become a friend of God.

- Powers assigned to make my life crawl; you are liars; die! In the name of Jesus.
- Wicked powers of “begin again,” your time is up, die! In the name of Jesus.
- Covenant of untimely death in my foundation, break! In the name of Jesus.
- (Make this pronouncement 7 times) Wasters shall not know my address, by the power in the blood of Jesus!
[After Message]
- Jesus Christ, yoke breaker, break my yoke now! In the name of Jesus.
- Anything stolen from my brain when I was a child, I repossess you now! In the name of Jesus.
