Topic: DIVINE FAVOUR (3)
Text: Proverbs 8:35; 3:3–4; Job 33:26; Psalm 106:4; Isaiah 12:3
Minister: Dr. Daniel Olukoya (G.O. MFM Worldwide)
Since this episode started, we have been looking at the Bible and discussing about favour, and I have carefully explained that favour is a powerful product from heaven that brings sweatless victory, that will take you from ordinary to extraordinary, that will make you break records instead of breaking down, that will make you receive without asking, and that favour is a key to walking in divine blessings.
Favour can make you great within 24 hours. It is a very powerful weapon. This year that we are confronting, if there is one thing you should carry into that year, it is divine favour.
When that favour is upon you, what you never even prayed about; the Lord will give it to you. It will distinguish you in a sea of people, and every good thing you touch will prosper. You begin to have outstanding miracles in all areas of life.
Favour will create open doors in every area you go to, and it will immunise you from wastage by the enemy.
Now, there are many ways you can provoke divine favour. There are many ways you can magnetise divine favour into your life. That is what I want to talk about briefly now, before we start praying:
- Uncompromising holiness: practise holiness and living a holy life, the way God wants you to live. When you live a life of holiness, the Bible says, “Without holiness, no man shall see the Lord.” This brings divine favour.
- Going out of your way to be a blessing to others brings favour unto you. Read your Bible very well. A lot of people who were mightily blessed in the Bible were those who went out of their way to be a blessing to others. Elijah confronted the widow of Zarephath and said, “Give me oil and a little meal to eat.” She said, “We do not have, but the little we have, we want to eat and die, because there is famine in the land. But because of your word, I will do it.” The woman went out of her way to be a blessing, and she now had abundance.
Proverbs 8:35 (KJV) says: “For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.”
Proverbs 3:3–4 (KJV): “Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.”
- Sacrificial giving: when God sees that you are willing to give anything to Him, it magnetised favour to you.
- Waging war against anti-favour spirits: there are some spirits that bring disfavour to man. You must avoid such spirits. Greed will bring disfavour. Adultery will bring disfavour. Stealing will bring disfavour.
- Pray for favour: the Bible says “whosoever asks, receives”.
Job 33:26 (KJV) says: “He shall pray unto God, and he will be favourable unto him: and he shall see his face with joy: for he will render unto man his righteousness.”
Psalms 106:4 (KJV) also says: “Remember me, O LORD, with the favour that thou bearest unto thy people: O visit me with thy salvation;”
So you can pray for favour. If you do not pray about it, it means you do not want it.
- Be a friend of God. Abraham was a friend of God, and God was favourable to him. Jesus says, “My friends are ye, when you do what I have sent you to do.” God calls you His friend, and this is a very serious situation.
- Control your tongue: have discipline over the words of your mouth, because a lot of people talk themselves out of divine favour. Have firm control over your mouth. Make sure the Holy Spirit in you gets into gear before you open your mouth and begin to talk.
- Control your temper: Do not be the kind who will just lose your temper and begin to scream all over the place. Let anger disappear from your spirit.
- Be disciplined: be a disciplined person. God respects those who discipline themselves.
- Reject discouragement: refuse to be discouraged. The enemy has a lot of tactics to steal from God’s people, and one very effective method is discouragement. Once he discourages a person and the person is down and not happy, he becomes someone who will pull himself out of favour. Discouragement is a terrible thing and can kill favour.
- Be a prayer addict. Be prayerful. Do not run away from the altar of prayer. Do not ever get tired of praying, because the enemy will be happy, because what you are saying is cancelling even the prayers that have been answered for you. When God blesses you, He expects you to be a blessing. He expects you to be a very prayerful person. He expects you to be a very prayerful human being. Learn to pray. Learn to stick to the place of prayer.
- Fast. Learn to fast. A lot of people do not like to fast. Jesus made it very clear and said, “This kind of problem goeth not except by prayer and fasting.” Beloveth, there are some mountains that will not shift unless we involve fasting in our program. It is sad when we do 70 days prayer and fasting, and some people do not complete or even fast. It is sad that some people do not participate in the PMCH programs. Fasting demolishes the power of the flesh so that the spirit can rise.
- Rejoice in the Lord always, and again, I say, rejoice. Rejoicing in the Lord will give you divine favour.
Isaiah 12:3 (KJV) says: “Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.”
- Be generous. Do not be stingy. There is one fact of life that never fails: the children of the generous never suffer. So, be generous, so that God too can be generous unto you.
- Hunger and thirst for knowledge and truth: The Bible says, “Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness; they shall be full.”
- Pray for favour with violent faith.
These are some keys for you out of several that can bring favour into your life. But if you come to church, you hate prayer, you hate Bible study, you hate Bible reading, you do not fellowship with God’s people, and you are writing courier letters to disfavour. And so tonight, as we begin to pray the favour-magnetising prayers again, I want you to open your mind and pray from the Spirit.
PRAYER POINTS.
- Garment of favour, I am available; envelope my life! In the name of Jesus.
- Power of disfavour, I am not your candidate; scatter! In the name of Jesus.
- Powers that must die for my life to move forward, before I leave this place, die! In the name of Jesus.
- Back-to-back celebrations, back-to-back congratulations, locate me now! In the name of Jesus.
- Powers submitting my name for disfavour, die! In the name of Jesus.
- Dark forces, discussing my destiny at night, expire! In the name of Jesus. (A sevenfold amen.)
[Prayers on Mantle]
- Angels of war, pursue blessing blockers away from me! In the name of Jesus.
- Every shrine containing my name, catch fire! In the name of Jesus.
- My name, jump out of the book of frustration! In the name of Jesus.

- Strange parasites in my body, die! In the name of Jesus.
