Topic: WHEN THE MIND IS SICK
Text: Ecclesiastes 9:3, Proverbs 4:24

Tonight, we are looking at a very important and deep topic. Can the mind be sick? The Bible says yes. It even tells us that the sickness can even be very serious.

Ecclesiastes 9:3 (KJV) says: “This is an evil among all things that are done under the sun, that there is one event unto all: yea, also the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness is in their heart while they live, and after that they go to the dead.”

Can the mind be evil? The Bible says yes. The Bible even says that the heart of man is desperately wicked. When the mind is sick, a lot of things go wrong. This is why the Bible rings out loud and clear and proclaims in Proverbs 4:23 – “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”

Since the issues of life come from the heart, keep your heart diligently. Many things could go wrong with the mind. There is madness in the hearts of men. There is malaria in the hearts of men. There is kwashiorkor in the hearts of men. There is tuberculosis in the hearts of men. There is coughing in the hearts of men. There is leanness in the hearts of men. There are plenty of sicknesses in the hearts of men. This is a very serious matter.

Once something goes wrong at the mind level, it will affect the whole of the destiny. A lot of people who are seeking deliverance day and night will make more progress if they sit down, analyse their minds and the thoughts they are having, and do something about it, because generally, a man is a product of two things:

• What you think,
• What you say.

The Bible says, “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” There are plenty of sick minds these days. All kinds of terrible things are happening, and sometimes you look at some people and wonder whether they do any thinking at all. There are many signs of sick minds.

I pray that tonight, all the minds that are sick, the Lord will deliver them, in the name of Jesus.

When a mind is sick,

• Worry fills that heart. Although the worry will not bring any result, they will still engage in it. Some lose weight, and some develop high blood pressure because of worry and anxiety. It is a sign of a sick mind.
• There is a feeling of uselessness. You just think, “Well, what is it all about? What is the use?”
• You are always having a depressed mood. Nobody can tell when you are happy and when you are sad. All of a sudden, your face forms a cloud, and your mind goes down as if a heavy luggage were placed on your heart. That is depression.
• There is unexplainable sadness. No wonder Jesus spent so much time addressing the mind. He said, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy mind.”.
• There is the feeling of hopelessness.
• There is the feeling of guilt, especially on things you have confessed and the Lord has forgiven you, but your mind keeps going back to.
• All the sense of fear of dying is a sign of a sick mind. And because you are so afraid of dying, there are drugs you swallow every day because you do not want to die.
• You begin to think of suicide; it is a sign of a sick mind.
• You lack motivation, you cannot really do anything until somebody is pushing you, it shows a sick mind. You will not read until the exam is close.
• There is frequent desire to cry. Any small thing, some people just break down and cry.
• There is feeling of isolation. You feel that nobody wants you again and that you have been abandoned.

The Bible says, “There is insanity in the hearts of men while they live.” You are a man; you now sit down and say somebody should be plaiting your hair. They now plait it for you like a sango worshipper, and you say it is a style. No, it is not a style; you are a mad man. And this is the truth. Some of them like that say “I am a Gospel singer”, no he is not a gospel singer; it is the gospel singing him to show him as an example of somebody not to follow. So there are plenty of sick people in the house of God who do sickening things because their mind is already having malaria.

The human mind is the greatest vagabond in the universe, and if you do not control it, it will turn you into a vagabond person. Sometimes when the doctors start giving some people drugs at the hospital, it is when the landlord has already kicked the mind out of the house and some people’s minds have been converted to concrete; thoroughly mixed and permanently set. No matter the mind of God that he hears, he will still go and do strange things.

There are plenty of people, beloveth, who claim to come to MFM, but they are a disgrace to MFM, because of the manner of things that they do.

Many have cobwebs forming in their minds. The mind is so stale. Any opportunity to bear grudges, they will bear grudges. Any opportunity to keep malice, they keep malice. Any opportunity not to greet somebody, they take it.

There are also plenty of people who say, “Well, I have an open mind.” There is nothing like an open mind. You are just really saying, “I have a blank space.” When your mind is little or people say, “You are of a little mind,” it means that small things are things that really bother you. Great minds are not bothered by all that.

This is the truth, beloveth. When somebody is constantly discouraged by any small thing, it is a big problem. Let me tell you one secret: Your life is determined by the state of your mind and what you feed into it. Your mind is the gateway to the spirit, the soul, and your body. It may be the conscious mind. It may be the subconscious mind, because the mind can be conscious or subconscious. In the subconscious mind, you find long forgetten memories and experiences of childhood stored there.

When you now combine those thoughts that have been stored in your mind since you were a little boy or girl, together with your physical inheritance, your environment or cultural background, and your own temperament, that mind will become mad very soon. With the conscious mind, which is only a small part of our whole mind, we can accept deliverance and conquer everything else that is occupying our minds.

Failure to win the battle of the mind will be failure in the battle of life. For “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.”

Do not take tonight’s teaching lightly because it is to the mind that the devil offers suggestions. The power of suggestion in the mind is so terrible that the devil made our master Jesus sweat drops in the garden of Gethsemane. That is why it is dangerous for your mind to wander during prayers. That is why the mind is a theatre of satanic surgery. This is why the extent to which the devil can control your mind is the same as the way he can control your life.

In fact, as a matter of necessity, the devil must work with the human mind in order to get result.

And once he is able to grab that area, he will be able to grab the whole of the body, soul, and spirit. Then plenty of afflictions we battle with, originate from the mind. The mind is therefore a centre of warfare.

What many people do not realise is that Satan has instant and immediate access to each of our minds. He has a complete picture of our thoughts and imaginations, including our motives, intentions, and secret ambitions. As you are sitting down there, if your mind is wandering around with pollution, lust, and pride, he knows.

He is familiar with every weakness and every strength in each of us. And as permitted by you, whether by carelessness or ignorance, he can plant or remove ideas from your mind.

When the mind is sick, it can lead to:

• family breakup.
• Oppression.
• Bad reputation.
• Suicide.
• Chronic sicknesses.
• Emotional breakdown.
• Family strife.
• Profitless hardwork.
  This is why the enemies struggle so hard to gain control of the mind.

I am praying for somebody here tonight: if the enemy has made too much progress in your mind, I am praying here by the power of the Holy Spirit, that the progress of the enemy in your heart will be arrested, in the name of Jesus.

Because of the centrality of the mind in our warfare, satanic agents seek to control other people’s minds, and they use all kinds of techniques. They can use your photograph, your hair, your fingernails, or something that has touched a part of your body. Why do you think people sometimes dry their clothes outside, and by the time they go back to pack them, they find a piece of their clothes cut off? Why do people fall asleep sometimes and find out somebody has cut off a part of their hair? It is control.

Why is it that plenty of former boyfriends having photographs of their ladies refuse to hand those photographers over? So they use various satanic techniques to control people’s minds. To give a person a headache, they can use their hair, and a terrible migraine will happen to the person. They can use a person’s photograph. They can also use a candle.

If you are here and you have ever submitted your picture to a prophet, or you have lost your hair, your clothes, or your shoes mysteriously, they may be controlling you from somewhere.

I am praying for somebody here: whatsoever has been stolen from you that the enemy is using against you shall catch fire in the hand of the enemy, in the name of Jesus.

A love spell can be cast on somebody using articles of his hair or clothing. Or for those men who eat all over the place, people can wash their breast or vagina into a cup, use it to cook for them, and when you eat it, you are in trouble. Your wife at home becomes useless, and you begin to distribute your salary to strange women. They are already controlling your life.

I pray for such people that the Lord will set them free, in the name of Jesus.

Certain problems that people experience in life happen when evil powers are struggling to control their minds. For some people, in order to control them, they give them drugs and alcohol. They will become drunkards and addicts. Once they take those things, their minds are never the same. The sharing of underwears can be used to control people’s destinies.

Today, you need to:

1. Recognise that the mind can have a problem.
2. Be able to identify the problem.
3. Know that the Lord wants to take total control of your mind, as written in Luke 10:27–28.
4. Renounce powerful dark spirits that are controlling the mind.
5. Take up warfare against those spirits tonight. That is why we are here.

There are people whose clear thoughts are always foreign to them. If you lose the battle of the mind, then you lose all battles. Tonight, we need to cry to the heavens. This is the deliverance that some destinies have been crying to receive. This is why some cannot stop masturbation, thinking evil, being deceptive, and hypocrisy; all because the mind is under another control.

PRAYER POINTS

1. (Raise up your right hand to the heavenlies.) Where is the Lord God of Elijah? Arise, increase my speed by fire, in the name of Jesus.
2. Every yoke assigned to terminate my destiny, your time is up, die, in the name of Jesus.

[After Message]

1. Every dark control of my destiny, die in the name of Jesus.
2. Demonic stones placed on my heart, scatter, in the name of Jesus.
3. Evil remote-controlling powers, I am not your candidate, die in the name of Jesus.
4. Repeated affliction, your time is up, die, in the name of Jesus.
5. Blood poured on the ground against me, swallow your owner, in the name of Jesus.
6. By the power in the blood of Jesus, the rag in my foundation will not capture me, in the name of Jesus.
7. Powers trading with my virtues, before I leave this place, die, in the name of Jesus.
8. Expected and unexpected testimonies, manifest in my life, in the name of Jesus.
