Topic: DEALING WITH VAIN LABOUR SYNDROME
Text: Genesis 26:12–30.
Minister: Dr. Daniel Olukoya (G.O. MFM Worldwide)
We are in another total healing session, and like I explained to you the first time, when I say total healing, there is healing of the:
- physical body,
- soul,
- spirit,
- career,
- marriage,
- finances, etc.
There is healing in various areas.
When what ought to be is not what is going on, the purpose of prayer is to demand that what ought to be must be. You are supposed to bless generations, but you are not even a blessing to yourself yet. What ought to be is that you must be a blessing to generations. So when you observe, you know what ought to be, and you now see that what ought to be is not what is going on, prayer changes it to what ought to be.
In healing, a man is supposed to be healthy, but there is a disease in his body. But prayer will demand that what ought to be must be.
This is why prayer is sometimes forceful and violent, because what ought to be is not what is on the ground. Something has shifted what ought to be into another realm and converted it to what not ought to be. So, the prayer will drag it away. There was a message preached many years ago titled “Recovery from the Mouth of the Lion.” David said, ‘I pursued after the lion who stole my lamb, took the lamb from the mouth of the lion, then fought and tore the lion’.
Many blessings of people, beloveth, are currently in the mouth of the lion. It is prayer that will grab what is in the mouth of the lion, drag it out, and destroy the lion. So, that is the purpose of healing: to make what ought to be, to be. To demand that it is so. This is what you must pay very close attention to and pray very well for when the time comes. Failure at the edge of success is a sickness—not a physical sickness, but a spiritual one.
Genesis 26:12–14 (KJV) says: “Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him. And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great: For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him.”
I am praying for somebody here: all the envious witchcraft that are against your moving forward and fighting you because of envy, with a tenfold amen, bury them now, in the name of Jesus.
Genesis 26:15–16 (KJV): “For all the wells which his father’s servants had digged in the days of Abraham his father, the Philistines had stopped them, and filled them with earth. And Abimelech said unto Isaac, Go from us; for thou art much mightier than we.”
They drove him away because they said he was too mighty.
Genesis 26:17–18 (KJV): “And Isaac departed thence, and pitched his tent in the valley of Gerar, and dwelt there. And Isaac digged again the wells of water, which they had digged in the days of Abraham his father; for the Philistines had stopped them after the death of Abraham: and he called their names after the names by which his father had called them.”
Genesis 26:19–20 (KJV): “And Isaac’s servants digged in the valley, and found there a well of springing water. And the herdmen of Gerar did strive with Isaac’s herdmen, saying, The water is our’s: and he called the name of the well Esek; because they strove with him.”
Isaac dug and found water in the new land he went to. But the herdsmen in that new land went there and said, “It is our own”, wells that they did not dig. They fought him for it.
Genesis 26:21–22 (KJV) “And they digged another well, and strove for that also: and he called the name of it Sitnah. And he removed from thence, and digged another well; and for that they strove not: and he called the name of it Rehoboth; and he said, For now the LORD hath made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land.”
Genesis 26:23–30 (KJV): “And he went up from thence to Beer-sheba.
And the LORD appeared unto him the same night, and said, I am the God of Abraham thy father: fear not, for I am with thee, and will bless thee, and multiply thy seed for my servant Abraham’s sake. And he builded an altar there, and called upon the name of the LORD, and pitched his tent there: and there Isaac’s servants digged a well. Then Abimelech went to him from Gerar, and Ahuzzath one of his friends, and Phichol the chief captain of his army. And Isaac said unto them, Wherefore come ye to me, seeing ye hate me, and have sent me away from you? And they said, We saw certainly that the LORD was with thee: and we said, Let there be now an oath betwixt us, even betwixt us and thee, and let us make a covenant with thee; That thou wilt do us no hurt, as we have not touched thee, and as we have done unto thee nothing but good, and have sent thee away in peace: thou art now the blessed of the LORD. And he made them a feast, and they did eat and drink.”
This is a very powerful story. Isaac had a fundamental problem that he did not detect. The success of Isaac was shortlived; it was not lasting, and what he laboured for was taken away from him, transferred to someone else. It is a tragedy when a power allows you to work very hard, only for a satanic transfer to happen. A man built a house, and every night, voices were screaming at the roof. They came there, broke the roof down, but saw nothing. The workers who came to work saw nothing and heard nothing.
So he had to leave the house because, after the workers had left, the screaming continued. He went and built another house. All of a sudden, there was a court action alleging that he had bought the land from the wrong person, and the court asked him to remove the house from that place. So he lost it. He went to a third one, and that one collapsed. There was something wrong with fighting his efforts and labour.
There are five people that the Bible describes as going to foreign land from their land.
- Joseph,
- Abraham,
- Jacob,
- Esther,
- Isaac, etc.
All of them did very well and enjoyed their labour, except Isaac. Jacob laboured and brought all his goods to his father’s house. Joseph too laboured, came into success at the age of 30, and died at the age of 110. He had 80 straight years of enjoyment. Esther was a slave girl who went to a foreign land and became the first lady. She died at the age of 80. Mordecai also went to a foreign land and became prime minister.
Daniel entered Babylon at about 16 or 17. He was an advisor to four kings, he was like a prime minister. Only the success of Isaac was shortlived.
One great prayer everybody should pray with anger is what I am going to call now. I will know those who love their destiny as they pray this prayer.
Can you raise your right hand to the heavenlies as you shout this prayer loud and clear:
Powers assigned to transfer my portion, die, in the name of Jesus.
Reuben had a portion, but it was transferred to Judah. Esau had a portion, but it was transferred to Jacob. Judas had a portion, which was transferred to Paul. Are you here and have you tasted wealth before but it did not last? You once had it, but the enemy brought you low? Can you raise your right hand and say:
I am rising again, by the power in the blood of Jesus.
I am shining again, by the power in the blood of Jesus.
One thing I want everyone here to know is that: the last chapter of your story has not been written. You shall rise again. You shall shine faster. The Holy Ghost shall make you rise again, in the name of Jesus.
All the wells of the father of Isaac were blocked by the Philistines. They reduced him from many wells to just one. And those areas were practically desert lands. Digging wells is hard work. Sometimes you have to dig well up to 250,000 feet. The walls that he got from his father, they stopped it. The ones he dugged, they stopped it. Then, after stopping all, they came and said, “We see that God is with you; make a covenant with us that you will not fight us.”.
I am praying that any power challenging your enlargement of coast shall die violently, in the name of Jesus.
Reduction from many things to one had come upon Isaac. The spirit of reduction had entered. There are people who say, “I used to have many accounts”, “I used to have many shops”, or “I used to have many employees” but now, they have just one. Isaac got to well number three and called it ‘Rehoboth.’ On his own volition, he left that well and relocated to Beersheba. Read your Bible well. Isaac’s problem did not stop; he did not make progress until he raised an altar to God, like his father.
Abraham raised three altars, and Jacob raised three altars. The altars you raise to God represent your spirituality. Isaac was physically and spiritually weak. Father Abraham was a fighter and a prophet. Jacob was a fighter and a prophet. He even fought God. That was why he had the prophetic gift of being able to transfer gifts without seeing people.
Jacob was a prophet and seer. Isaac lived by his feelings. Isaac digged the fifth and sixth wells, but when he raised an altar to God, his enemies came to negotiate.
I am praying for somebody here; those who hate you will begin to negotiate peace with you, in the name of Jesus.
There is a story that I read. You may say, “This is wicked,” but it is still what we are talking about. This man could not find a wife until he was 57 years old. At 57, it was only a girl of 24 or 25 years that agreed to marry him. Immediately after they got married, her first pregnancy yielded twins, and the following year, she had another one. So he had three children in three years. One day, the young lady was coming from the market, and all of a sudden she saw the husband’s car, looked at it, and saw a lady by his side.
So she began to follow them and found out that they were parked in front of a hotel. She too parked far away. She gave them time to enter the hotel. She then went inside, started screaming, and said, “This man that just entered here, his house is on fire, and I need to talk to him! Tell me where he is!” Ordinarily, the hotel receptionist will not give you information about anybody like that, but when they heard “his house is on fire,” they said, “Yes, he came here with his wife; let us go.” They took her there, banged on the door, and when they entered, both he and the strange woman were half naked.
When the man saw his wife, he almost fainted. He prostrated and started begging. That girl did not say a word. She walked out and did something strange, demonic, and cruel. I have never seen such wickedness before. This lady took the three children, went to the bridge, and threw them all into the water. She said, “You old man, you saw somebody marry you after a long time, and you went to be messing around. Go and start afresh.” Vain labour. The man died a miserable death. The lady was thrown into life imprisonment.
I am praying for somebody here this day:
Every shame is removed from your feet, in the name of Jesus.
Wherever you have been failing, you will succeed, in the name of Jesus.
Wherever you are on the ground, you shall rise, in the name of Jesus.
Every good thing you touch shall prosper, in the name of Jesus.
Anointing to succeed shall come upon your life, in the name of Jesus.
God will move you from nowhere to somewhere, in the name of Jesus.
God will move you from being a nonentity to a celebrity, in the name of Jesus.
God will move you from being rejected to being accepted, in the name of Jesus.
Where you have been frustrated, you will be celebrated, in the name of Jesus.
Your generation shall hear your voice, in the name of Jesus.
God will silence your silencers, in the name of Jesus.
You will move from obscurity to prosperity, in the name of Jesus.
Every spirit of vain labour, every power that has stolen from you, must return what they have stolen from you, in the name of Jesus.
