Topic: THE SICKNESS KNOWN AS BEWITCHMENT
Text: Acts 8:9–13.

I have been explaining to you about healing—that it is not just bodily; there is spiritual, emotional, career, marriage, and business. Healing covers all kinds of areas.

Today, we are looking at a very strange sickness. The sickness called Betwitchment has now assumed an epidemic proportion, and it is really alarming. Men and women are fired arrows of bewitchment, and they begin to war against themselves.

Acts 8:9–13 (KJV) says: “But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one: To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God. And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries. But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.”

Simon was a sorcerer, using the power of sorcery to bewitch the people of Samaria, and they were hailing him as great. They were bewitched.

Bewitchment is a terrible thing. I am sent to warn you tonight that it has assumed an alarming proportion. This is a very very serious problem, and I want you to understand this.

Many are behaving like the Samaritans we just read about. The people of Samaria were under such great suffering, yet they never realised it. They were in satanic blindness, but they did not know.

They were under a satanic illusion, but they were not aware. They were praising the very man who was destroying them. They did not know who Simon really was. He was sapping them dry, but they believed he was helping them. So, to destroy the people thoroughly and properly, Satan made sure they were blinded, so they could not really see the person for who he was. So, they ignorantly hailed their enemy. They called their friends enemies, and their enemies friends. Destruction had settled over the whole city. Sadness was everywhere in the land.

Unclean spirits had possessed so many people, yet they felt strangely normal. Nevertheless, they went about normally as if nothing was wrong, as respectable men and women who looked outwardly normal but were bewitched. There were successful businessmen and powerful politicians in Samaria, all blinded by the devil. There was sickness in the land, but it never bothered them. It was when Philip got there that the unclean spirits began to jump out. All the while, those people had been under Simon.

They thought Simon was the answer to the problem, yet he was the question and the problem. So slowly, strategically, ironically, subtly, gently, and happily, they were dying, and they were praising the one who was drowning their boats, meaning they were bewitched. The Holy Spirit had to locate Simon and declare that he was an agent of darkness. Beloveth, hear me and hear me well: we have a lot of people looking so normal on the streets, but bewitched.

Bewitchment is colour blind; it does not matter your skin colour. It is geographically blind, whether you are in the UK, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Canada, or the US. It is all over the streets. That is why you can see men and women all over the streets, heavily dosed with hard drugs, removing their clothes and being naked on the streets, and wandering around, staggering as they go.

Now, there are many categories of this bewitchment. Unfortunately, the devil is using this weapon to a very successful level.

Bewitchment may involve conjuring up demons from hell or from covens. You know there are three strongholds in the universe:

• the heavenlies,
• the earth,
• the sea.

In these three strongholds, there are covens. So bewitchment may involve conjuring demons from hell, the heavenlies, the earth, and the waters and dispatching them to a person, place, or thing. A professor was dating a student under him, a girl the age of his last daughter. That was bewitchment on his own. Then the examination came. The girl wrote the exam and failed a particular subject during the examination.

The professor tore away what the girl wrote and, in his own handwriting, began to write the correct answers in her answer booklet, knowing fully well that the whole department knew his handwriting. That was the end of his career as a professor. Is that not bewitchment? How can a man do that type of thing?

Immediately, men talk to a lot of ladies, they are bewitched. Their brains will take a very long trip to their legs. It is as though they cannot think again. A man is looking at you and calling you an angel. Are you an angel? So they are so bewitched.

Someone will say to them, “This man is smoking Indian hemp”. Or “this man is very violent”. Or “this man who wakes up in the morning and calls you to send him airtime when you are not married to him yet”. Their reply usually is, “He will change”. You can see that in such a marriage, you are already writing a courier letter to poverty, and people are warning you to tell the man to get a job, but your reply is “he will get”. Bewitchment.

Bewitchment may involve dispatching wicked spirits inside a place to cause envy, strife, and confusion, and by the time the fight stops, you ask them the cause of their fight, and they do not know.

Imagine pressing toothpaste from the bottom or from the middle being a cause of divorce. Bewitchment. It may involve the activity of spirits of delusion. There is a spirit causing false belief and false opinion. It is a spirit meant to mislead, deceive, or trick. This spirit of delusion plays a very big role in bewitchment.

It can enter a marriage, business, or school and cause suspicion, false accusations, and the telling of untrue stories, and at the end of the day, you find out that it was not necessary. It was just bewitchment.

You are in a place where somebody puts the Bible down and stands on it, saying that he is standing on the Word of God, and you, as a child of God, are there without saying anything. It is serious betwitchment. I want you to understand very well that if the bewitchment is not controlled, it can lead to other dangerous things.

Bewitchment May involve the use of evil words against somebody. Bottom line: bewitchment is to spiritually influence a person through witchcraft. Each time I think about this, my uncle, I feel like crying. He was a very lovely and kind-hearted gentleman. He got a woman he wanted to marry, introduced the woman to the family, and the wedding was fixed. All of a sudden, he noticed that the woman was pregnant. So he said to her, “Well, I cannot marry you anymore. Marry the man who impregnated you”. That was his first decision.

But he never stopped going to that woman’s house. Bewitchment. Then the stomach of the woman started getting bigger and bigger. It was when the woman was almost nine months pregnant that he came to introduce her to me. He said, “Daniel, this is the woman I want to marry”. I said, “But she is pregnant”. He said, “Yes, she has made a mistake. Somebody else has impregnated her. So I am just going to wait for her to deliver the baby, then I marry her”. I said to him, “Uncle, I know that you are older than I am. But drop this woman and run. Do not go ahead”. Do you know what he said? He said to me, “I love her”. The day she was to deliver that baby was the day my uncle died.

● May you not be bewitched, in the name of Jesus.

Bewitchment is such a serious disease that in Galatians 3:1, Paul was writing to the Christians there, not unbelievers, and he said:

Galatians 3:1 (KJV): “O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?”

Note that Paul was writing to Christians, but he was saying that they were bewitched.

● I am praying that tonight, every arrow of bewitchment will go back to the senders, in the name of Jesus.

PRAYER POINTS.

TOTAL HEALING (8)
Confession: Psalm 107:20: “He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.”

1. My destiny, hear the Word of the Lord; reject any form of bewitchment, in the name of Jesus.
2. I gather together every witchcraft curse issued against my life, and I send them back to the sender, in the name of Jesus.
3. You spirit and demons backing up anything that God did not plant into my life, lose your hold now and die, in the name of Jesus.
4. Father Lord, let every organ of my body experience the fireworks of the Holy Ghost now, in the name of Jesus.
5. Father Lord, let there be a disassociation between my body and the evil food I have eaten, in the name of Jesus.
6. Father Lord, in the name of Jesus, I vomit every evil food I have eaten, in the name of Jesus.
7. Lord, let the blood of Jesus flush out every poison deposited in my blood system as a result of evil food, in the name of Jesus.
8. All that I have lost due to eating bewitched food, Father Lord, let me have them back now, in the name of Jesus.
9. O God, re-arrange any part of my life fragmented by the power of infirmity, in the name of Jesus.
10. Every dark power assigned to afflict my destiny, die by fire, in the name of Jesus.
11. I speak destruction to the root of any pain and poverty planted by witchcraft powers in my life, in the name of Jesus.
12. Every inherited sickness from my family lineage, dry to your root, in Jesus’ name.
13. Anything in me supporting witchcraft embargoes on my well-being; come out with all your roots and die, in the name of Jesus.
14. Owners of evil load of embargoes, carry your load by fire, in the name of Jesus.
15. I break every ancestral embargo on my destiny, in the name of Jesus.
16. I recover my finances from witchcraft embargoes, in the name of Jesus.
17. Lord, let every envious witchcraft activity set in motion against my advancement be destroyed by fire, in the name of Jesus.
18. Lord, let every agent of dark power from my place of birth assigned against my destiny, fall down and die, in the name of Jesus.
19. Lord, let all agents of dark powers militating against my progress be sentenced to their grave now, in the name of Jesus.
20. I blind the eyes of envious friends monitoring my life, in the name of Jesus.
21. You dark powers of my father’s house, release my life now, in the name of Jesus.

1. Chanting spirits, assigned against me, kill your senders in the name of Jesus.
2. Powers chanting against me in the night, your time is up; die, in the name of Jesus.
3. Powers chanting the name of my (mention the name of any family member you want), die in the name of Jesus. (a threefold amen).
4. Strangers in my life, die in the name of Jesus.
5. Satanic ancestral voice, speaking against my next level, shut up by the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.
6. Powerbase of my enemies, hear the Word of the Lord: disappoint them, in the name of Jesus.
