Topic: WHO SHALL ASCEND?
Text: Psalms 15:1–5, Revelation 9:6
Minister: Dr. Daniel Olukoya (G.O. MFM Worldwide)
Psalms 15:1–5 (KJV) says: “LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour. In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not. He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.”
There is a place known as the place of power, and God is that ultimate power. Even amongst men, there is a seat of power. When you go to the villa in Nigeria or the White House in America, there is a place there known as the seat of power. They might pass you through different rooms and leave you wondering which particular room there is where the seat of power is.
When people go to the seat of power, they do not go there for jokes; they go there for serious matters. When you get there, you will know that you have arrived at the seat of power. When people get to the seat of power, they sometimes leave there with a letter that changes their lives. Some leave with a phone number. Some leave with a present.
● You must leave here with something this morning, in the name of Jesus.
There are men and women who cry and weep before God every day, men and women who want the heavens to open, who want God to establish a new order after they have looked at the old order and said, “No, this cannot go on.” These are men and women who see what others do not see. These men and women soak their pillows with tears every night, and they have become lone rangers. Only a man who feels a heavy burden for souls can walk into the strong room of God and come out with something. God is still searching for men and women who are willing to get into His presence in search of fresh power.
God is looking for men and women who can discipline themselves and will not rest until heaven is open. Many present-day believers have to work harder than we are working now if we want to ascend into His holy place, which is the seat of power.
If you wish to be anointed in your generation and make a mark, there is still some hard work to be done. It will be a tragedy if heaven looks at you and says, “Because of you, this or that person perished”, or that because of you, that tragedy happened, or that because of you, somebody lost their destiny.
As we walk through our streets now, what do you see?
- Truth has been relegated to the background.
- Corruption has been completely institutionalized. Everybody wants to be settled.
- Truth has been dethroned.
- Falsehood has become the order of the day. It has been enthroned and magnified.
- Adultery has captured so many useful men and destroyed them.
- Many people who call themselves born-again Christians drink fornication like water.
- Plenty of pastors are completely losing their focus, and many who are supposed to be movers for their generation are not moving anything.
- In many of our churches, unfortunately, many of the preachers are giving headache tablets to already dead men. You are telling a man, “Yes, I see you rising to the top,” but he has a broken leg. You say he is rising higher, yet he is standing in the church with his girlfriend.
- You see many Christians carrying weapons of warfare, yet no victory.
- In many places, the sanctuary of the Most High God has been converted into a house of deceit where people buy and sell.
- Mischievous boys and girls wallow in sin and then brand it with a new name.
- Present day believers have turned the devil into the accused. Any small thing, “It is the devil,” as if the devil who forced their hands to do what they did. Many excuse themselves by accusing the devil instead of taking responsibility for what they are doing. Was it the devil who removed your clothes? Was it the devil who locked the door? Was it the devil who slept with that person? This present-day generation lies against the devil.
We want the blessings of God, but we want to avoid the Blesser. We want the gift of God, but we want to avoid the Giver. We want to embrace His healing power, but we do not want instruction from the Healer. We want His protection, but we do not heed to the Protector. As I am talking to you now, every passing minute, about a hundred souls go to hellfire. Believers have not yet grasped the seriousness of the matter. God is looking for dependable, reliable, and trustworthy men and women these days who will carry the anointing for their generation.
The time has come when we should stop being ashamed of the gospel. The Bible says, “I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ”. Some put their Bibles deep down in their bags and cover it with all kinds of things. They do not want people to know they are Christians; there is a problem.
You see, the Muslims really cannot be bothered whether you can see them or not; once it is their time to pray, they pray anywhere. But believers are ashamed to pray in the marketplace, in the hospital, or in the airport. Believer are ashamed to pray outside.
A man whose heart is far from iniquity does not tell lies in his mouth. This is why there is a cry going out today saying, ‘Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? Who shall dwell in thy holy hill?’ God’s tabernacle and Holy Hill mean the same thing. It represents where God resides—the abode and seat of the power of the Almighty. The Bible then begins to tell us the characteristics of those who can dwell in that Holy place. Notice that the Bible does not say that you have to be a pastor, a GO, or a priest.
All those things make no sense in heaven. After all, I have seen so many people in Nigeria calling themselves apostles, and the only qualification for them to call themselves apostles is a tall hat on their heads. There are so many bishops who do not even know what the word means. All those things are labels, and God will remove those labels on the last day. When you get to heaven, “Are you a bishop or pastor?” will not be the first question you will be asked. It is pointless.
Who shall abide in His tabernacle? Who shall approach that seat of power?
- He who walketh uprightly: That is, you are a man or woman of integrity. By integrity, we mean your yes is your yes; your no is your no. Not that people do not know when you are saying Yes or when you are saying No.
- He that walketh righteousness: You do clean things. Nobody finds dirt in your hands; you do not do dirty business; you do not engage in any form of dirty things.
- You speak the truth in your heart: That is, you could speak the truth in your mouth, but in your heart there is a lie. There are plenty of lying pastors and Christians these days, and the end result is powerlessness. Somebody is arrested in the bank for fraud, and the first thing he says is, “My God shall deliver me from the hand of the police”, but did God ask you to steal?
- He does not backbite with his tongue: A backbiter is someone who bites you at the back. Anybody who gossips with you about somebody will gossip about you to somebody else. So anybody who is speaking to you, say, “This thing you are saying, can you repeat it in front of the person we are talking about?” And he says, ‘No, o, it is for your ears alone’. What you say to such people is “Get thee behind me, Satan!”. If you gossip and backbite, you are far away from that seat of power, from that holy hill.
- He does not do evil to his neighbour: You will not go out to harm people. You will not do to others what you do not want them to do to you.
- He does not take up reproach against his neighbour: You do not start mocking people, ridiculing them, or making fun of them. Those are those who will ascend the holy hill.
- In whose eyes a vile person is condemned: That is, you do not admire evil people. Some people will be hailing those doing evil as if they are doing well.
- He honoureth them that fear the Lord: that is, you give honour to those who fear God and respect them.
- He sweareth to his own hurt and changeth not: That is, you keep your word, even if it causes you loss.
- He who puts not his money to usury: This is about adding interest. That is, you are not out to exploit others. You just want to get the blessing that God has given to you.
- Nor takes a reward against the innocent: That is, you do not take bribes, nor will you pervert the cause of justice because you have been given money.
The Bible says that He who doeth all these things shall NEVER be moved. Beloveth, here you see the 11 steps that will take you to the Holy Hill of God. Look at these 11 characteristics and check your life here this morning.
A lot of us think prayer will solve everything. For some, you need to sit down and reorganise yourself. The Bible tells us in Revelation 9:6 that a time will come when mercy will be gone forever. Now, there is still mercy, but soon that mercy will be gone forever.
Revelation 9:6 (KJV) says: “And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.”
By that time, mercy would have been removed. Men will try to die but will not succeed. I find it challenging that the greatest saints who ever lived did not have a bigger Bible than we do. They were reading a small Bible; they did not have a commentary, yet they knew it better than we do. They had no access to the computer or internet, but they knew God better.
There are people here this morning that God has called you:
- to set up that which the enemy has upset,
- to call into line those that the enemy has called out of line,
- to act as a divine detective,
- to seek for lost treasure in people’s lives and make sure they find that treasure in their lives,
- that wherever you appear and pray, no witchcraft can operate,
- So that you will be a prophetic voice in this our generation,
But the way you are going now, unless there is a radical change on your part, you may not be able to achieve what God has for you. “Who shall abide in your tabernacle? Who shall dwell in your holy hill?”
PRAYER POINTS.

- I bind and cast out any power tormenting my body, in the name of Jesus.
- Any soul tie with any dead person, break, in the name of Jesus.
[After Message]
(Tell the Lord to search your heart with the searchlight of the Holy Ghost, and ask Him to kick out anything that is polluting your heart and pushing you away from the tabernacle of his Holy Hill).
- Unchangeable power of God, come upon my life now, in the name of Jesus.
- My Father, give me a second touch of your power, in the name of Jesus.
