Topic: VISION INFIRMITIES
Text: Proverbs 29:18, Joel 2:28
Minister: Dr. Daniel Olukoya (G.O. MFM Worldwide)

There is something known as vision. When it is sick, it begets the topic we are looking at now.

Proverbs 29:18 (KJV) says: “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.”

When there is no vision, what follows is destruction.

Joel 2:28 (KJV) says: “And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:”

Meaning that the best time for you to see a vision is when you are young. You may still see visions at old age, but you might not live long enough to see the result, so you must begin young.

Life itself is a journey with a beginning, a course, and a destination. Every person in life ends up somewhere. A clear vision increases your chance of coming to the end of your life, and you feel fulfilled that you have lived a good life. Without a vision, you come to the end of your life and wonder whether your life has mattered or not. This is a very serious matter. Vision is a factor that dominates life, and it is the best measuring rule of how a life has been lived.

There is an original design of every life listening to me here now, so we are not supposed to come here and while away our time. We are not supposed to come to this world and sit at the altar of probability. We are not supposed to come to this earth and fight as one, beating the air. We are not supposed to come to this world without purpose, direction, or bearing, which many are doing now.

WHAT REALLY IS A VISION NOW?

  • A very vivid picture that is actually seen.
  • An impression or awareness formed in your mind.
  • The seeing of a sight with your spiritual eyes. Like a TV set receives pictures when the areas are properly tuned, a person tuned to the right place will receive divine visions.
  • It is not just a picture of your heart, but a picture with a purpose.

Now let me ask you this question: Do you have a vision of your mission here on earth? It is a question you need to answer very quickly and on time.

  • A spiritual photograph that you can see with the mind of your spirit.
  • An expression of your faith.
  • A dream and a desire for the fulfilment of something that is good. Those who have changed the world have had dreams like Joseph. They are very dangerous people. That is why one prayer we need to pray very well is against those enemies that say, “Let us kill him and see what will become of his dreams.”
  • A revelation, an idea of God.
  • A mission, a task that must be done.
  • A burden, a weight you can carry until you put it down.
  • Your desire, plan, or goal.
  • Your total house plan.
  • A picture of your future in your heart.
  • The art of seeing invisible things that you want to achieve.
  • Your mental blueprint of your destiny—you are seeing what can be but has not yet been.

There is therefore a great danger beloveth in moving without a vision. Are you here this morning, and you are still sitting in the valley of indecision? You are still entangled in the mesh of confusion? You are in a mental bondage and a negative force is putting you in a cage? Do you find life confusing and punishing? Are you noticing that anytime you start something, it gets disturbed, and you never finish it up? Then perhaps you need to go to the divine hospital so that they can check out your vision to see if it has sickness. When you lack vision, the Bible says “destruction follows.”

Let me give you some statements on vision that you should meditate on:

  1. Show me your vision, and I will show you a future.
  2. Our lives are never greater than our vision.
  3. The poorest man is not he who is without money, but he who is without vision. That is poverty and poverty indeed.
  4. Just as poor eyes limit your sight, poor vision limits your destiny. Unfortunately, so many people have no vision of what they want to become or how they want to become it. When we ask the young ones sometimes, “What do you want to become?”, they reply, “I want to be a soldier.” Ask them why, and they say, “I like the uniform.” “I want to become a lawyer.” “Why?” “I want to have money.” Those are visionless signs.
  5. You will go where your vision is. That is the truth. So if you do not have a vision, you die a visionless life. If your vision is low, you come down to a low level. If your vision is sickness, you become sick. If your vision is living a life of sin, then you go to hellfire.
  6. You cannot rise higher than your vision. That is why, if you read your Bible, you see that no man ever saw glory without first of all seeing vision.
  7. Vision is different from and higher than ambition. Ambition is what one desires to become in life; vision is what God created you to become. So to become truly successful, your vision must become your ambition. I want you to understand this very well. Many are very hard-working, but they are vision vandals—they destroy their own vision.
  8. You need vision to move. Objectives determine the outcome. You can only achieve what you aim for.

If you are given a gun to fire an arrow, you have a greater chance of hitting the target if you can see it. But living a visionless life is like shooting an arrow without seeing the target.

Therefore, every Christian must seek God for his long-term and short-term vision for his own life. When your parents send you to school and at the university you have already aborted like seven times, it means you have no vision for your life really.

When you get pregnant 2 or 3 months before your final exams in secondary school, it means you are visionless. You need to have a vision for marrying, for your destiny, and for what you want to do. 98% of whether you become great or not depends on who you marry. You married for handsomeness? To marry a man because he is handsome is like buying a house because of the paint, and vice versa. I say this because there are a lot of visionless marriages going on.

● I pray that as many people as are here today and vision killers have completed their agenda in their lives, they shall be set free, in the name of Jesus.

I had a senior in my school in those days. He had no father, no mother, and no sibling. He worked very hard to send himself to school. He had a dangerous vision. By the time he was in Form 3 (middle class), he had finished the mathematics book meant for Form 5. By the time he got to Form 5, he had finished all the physics and biology syllabuses. So it was not a surprise when he wrote the final exams, and when the result came out, he had an A in six subjects. Why? He had a vision.

“Oh, they are selling kerosene, so I want to sell too.” Is that the vision God gave you? “I want to become a pastor.” Who told you that you are a pastor? “I want to become a pilot.” Where did you get the vision?” I want to marry this person.” Who told you that he or she is part of your vision? If you do not have a vision, you miss out on God’s best plan, and this is why we are talking about it here today. God is happy to give us a vision if we ask Him. The Bible says, “Ask, and it shall be given unto you.” When He gives you something, you begin to pursue it. But then visions can become sick.

VISION SICKNESSES.

  1. The first vision sickness is blindness: That is, you cannot see it at all. “O God, show me the secret of my life.” You pray hard but see nothing. You say, “I have prayed, but I did not see anything.” Three men came to you to propose marriage, and you started praying, but you had no vision, voice, or anything; it is blindness. “Father, show me the way that I should follow,” but the night you pray it, they block your way, and you see nothing. This is blindness of vision. We need to pray that the spiritual cataract on our eyes will be taken off.
  2. Farsightedness: You cannot see today; you are only seeing tomorrow. You are already in a bad situation that you have not come out of, but you are already moving on.
  3. Nearsightedness: You can only see what is close. Eye doctors call it myopia. That is indeed a serious problem. You can see what is happening in the immediate, but you cannot see into the future. This is a very serious matter, and we need to understand it very well.
  4. There are those who can only see with one eye. The other eye is dim. So they are seeing partially disrupted vision.
  5. There are those who are cross-eyed. So today they try this, and tomorrow they try that. They really do not know what to do.

There are visions:

  • infirmities,
  • killers,
  • diverters,
  • vandals,
  • manipulators,
  • blinders,
  • amputators.

We have a marching order from the Lord, which is:

  1. You must know the vision God has given you. Whatever prayer you need to pray to get there, get ready to pray it.
  2. You must destroy every foundation affecting your vision.
  3. You must write your vision down. A vision not written down may soon become forgotten. God wrote down His vision for creation in the Bible for us. If God could write down His own vision, who are you not to write down your own?
  4. You must shut up the vision, not just talk to everybody about it.
  5. You must run with that vision.

This morning, beloveth, you and I have prayers to pray, which will take us into other things.

PRAYER POINTS

[Before Message]

  1. Any power that does not want me to lift my head, you are a liar; die in the name of Jesus.
  2. Every power trying to bury me when I am still alive, die in the name of Jesus.

[After Message]

  1. Vision killers of my father’s house, your time is up; die, in the name of Jesus.
  2. Vision robbers, hear the Word of the Lord; scatter, in the name of Jesus.
  3. (Lay your hands on your two eyes as a prophetic action.) I fire back every arrow of spiritual blindness, in the name of Jesus.
