Topic: THE MINISTRY OF PERSONAL DELIVERANCE (8)
Text: Ecclesiastes 7:7

Ecclesiastes 7:7 (KJV) says: “Surely oppression maketh a wise man mad;”

Where we left off last time, we said that part of the reason you have to learn these principles of personal deliverance is because there are plenty of oppressive forces oppressing, attacking, harassing and tormenting people. From that scripture we have read, we can see that

Oppression has a capacity to:

• disgrace the wise,
• change the intelligent man to a fool,
• make the wise man look very stupid,
• make the wise man look very unreasonable,
• make a wise man mad,
• hypnotise even the most intelligent of Christians.

Like I was discussing the last time, oppression has a maddening power, a killing power, a slavery power.

There are twenty-one ways to effect personal deliverance. These are also personal spiritual tools for personal deliverance. They are also things to practise when you are faced with challenges.

No pastor will be sleeping by you on your bed or praying for you after you have had a bad dream. You have to take the bull by the horns and fight it for yourself. That is why MFM is called a “do-it-yourself” ministry.

1. Salvation: This is the first step in deliverance. It is useless ministering deliverance to someone still in the kingdom of satan. His position will be worse after the deliverance. So surrender your life to Jesus.
2. Absolute repentance: Turn around totally to the opposite. You totally leave what you were doing before.
3. Prayerfully search for the root cause of the problem: Where is it coming from? Is there any word from the Lord?
4. Engage in spirit-led fasting and prayer: Jesus said, “This kind goeth not forth, but by fasting and prayer.” Some things do not shift unless there is fasting and prayer.
5. Build a life of holiness because it is written, “But upon Mount Zion there shall be deliverance and holiness….” If you are unholy, any deliverance you have is temporary. It will not be permanent. You must stop doing the things you are doing; you must stop doing the things that the Lord wants you to stop so that you can retain the deliverance. Any unholiness in your life is a ladder for the enemy to come in.
6. Be watchful of the kind of friends you keep: that friend who is an enemy of God could be the ladder through which the enemy is pumping evil materials into your life. That is why that wise man said, “Show me your friend, and I will tell you who you are.” The Bible says, “Evil communication corrupts good manners.” Some people go straight until they have some friends giving satanic advice. If your best friend is a fornicator or a drunkard or an adulterer, then you do not have good friends.
7. Be a consistent reader of the Bible: You must read your Bible every day. No matter how busy you are or where you are going, let the Bible be daily bread for you; let it be honey that you eat every day. People who are filled with the word of God are always very active at repelling the attacks of darkness.
8. Be a praise and worship addict: Do not be the type of person that will say, “No, we are not late for service; they are just doing praise and worship.” No, that is a major part of the service. God inhabits the praises of His people. God is glorious in holiness and fearful in praises. You can buy the hymnbook if you do not have one. Sing songs of praises and worship from there. The enemy does not like an environment where God is praised.
9. Confess scriptures out loud promising your deliverance, like Luke 10:19 that says, “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Ephesians 1:7 says, “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.”
10. Break covenants and curses to destroy their legal hold. Many have consciously or unconsciously entered into evil covenants. In many places, many families are under evil curses. So you must break those curses and covenants.
11. Bind all the spirits associated with those covenants and curses because they do not operate without some spirits behind them.
12. Like I said on Wednesday, learn to cover yourself with the blood of Jesus. Always soak yourself in the blood of Jesus. Learn to plead the blood of Jesus. The book Revelation 12:11 tells us, “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb….”
13. Always pray for a fresh infilling of the Holy Spirit. Ask for fresh power.
14. Pray that the angels of God should cover you always and build an envelope around you. The Bible says in Psalms 34:7, “The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him and delivereth them.” The angels form an envelope around them to deliver them. This is why you must not go where the angels of God will not follow you.
15. Take charge of your thoughts. Pull down the stronghold of evil thoughts.
16. Pray that the wall of fire will surround you always as written in Zechariah 2:5. As you pray, the wall of fire around you, the enemy will not mess around in your place.
17. As written in James 4:7, resist the devil and he will flee from you. You must mount up a resistance, and then the enemy will flee. If the enemy does not flee from you, then check the kind of resistance you are mounting. If you feel someone is rude and insulting to you, do not respond. If they say to you, “Come and drink,” no, you resist. If you offer resistance, the enemy will flee.
18. Make it a regular practice to anoint yourself always. Anoint yourself before you go to bed, anoint yourself before you go to work, and have a bit of the oil in your bag or briefcase. The oil is the symbol of the Holy Spirit.
19. Cast out your fear. Fear is the opposite of faith, and once fear comes in, faith jumps out. When faith comes in, fear jumps out.
20. Forgive whoever has offended you. The Bible says, “Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.”
21. Do not allow anger and malice to take hold of your life. Anger is the demon by the door which opens the door to all other spirits to come in. Once the anger is there, sicknesses, oppression, tormentors, and all kinds of troubles will rush in at that period that you were losing your temper.

These are the twenty-one steps to effect personal deliverance. Next time, we will look at the tools of what to use and what to do when situations arise and you are alone, and you need to address the situation.

PRAYER POINTS.

[Before Message]

1. Every curse under which my family labours, break, in the name of Jesus.
2. Angels of destiny, locate my foundation and kill my problems, in the name of Jesus.
3. Spider of backwardness in my life, catch fire, in the name of Jesus.
4. (Pray these two hot times) Power base of infirmity in my life, you are a liar; die, in the name of Jesus.
5. (Pray this three hot times.) Wherever my spirit man is tied down, Holy Ghost fire: set me free, in the name of Jesus.
6. Powers that want to return me to square one, die, in the name of Jesus.
7. Anything that must happen for this year to favour me, happen by fire, in the name of Jesus.
8. Every cloud of bad luck, clear away, in the name of Jesus. (a sevenfold amen).

[After Message]

1. Holy Ghost, arise: disgrace the laughter of my enemies, in the name of Jesus.
2. Spirits of delay and denial, vomit my wasted years, in the name of Jesus.
3. Power to laugh last over my enemies, fall upon my life now, in the name of Jesus.
