Topic: THE MINISTRY OF PERSONAL DELIVERANCE (9)
Text: Luke 4:18-19, Psalms 29:3-5, Isaiah 27:1

Last time we looked at ways to effect the deliverance. Today, we look at tools for the deliverance.

Luke 4:18 (KJV) says: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.” – One of the mandates of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I want you to understand that the ministry of deliverance is the ministry of conflict and that occasions will arise when you will need to run yourself through deliverance by yourself, not by another person. It is not every time you find someone to pray for you, so you must learn how to pray for yourself. If you face an attack, you must know how to fight back and effect your deliverance from the attacks. All of these we have discussed in past studies. A lot have gained from these.

WHEN THE ENEMY COMES AGAINST A PERSON, THERE ARE FIVE AGENDAS:

1. DEMONIC OBSESSION: Here, dark powers take hold of the mind of a person and keep making it listen to words and suggestions of evil. That obsession is an external spiritual attack causing strong unreasonable thoughts, irrational behaviour and distress, irrational urges, and sometimes manifesting as insanity but is not controlling the person. It is just taking over the mind of that person and talking to the person. This reminds me of a crusade in Abeokuta. After the crusade, I was in my counselling room. A woman brought her son, who was a medical doctor, for counselling, but I noticed two hefty men standing beside him. I asked them what they were doing by his side.

They replied, “We are his bodyguards.” So I asked, “Why does he need bodyguards?” The mother replied, “He is hearing voices.” Then I asked him, “Young man, do you hear voices?” The young man replied and said, “Yes, sir, I hear a voice that says ‘run’,” and then he just begins to run.

All of a sudden, he took off from before me and ran. The men ran after him. I just thank God that there was no vehicle passing at that time because he ran across the expressway. Those voices are oppressing voices, tormenting voices, evil voices saying things to send a person into obsession.

● I am praying for anyone here, or listening to me, who is under any form of obsession, receive your deliverance in the name of Jesus.

2. POSSESSION: The dark powers move into the soul of a person and take total control of that life. That is when you can say a person is possessed. Sometimes in deliverance, when you begin to pray for a person, a voice starts talking to you, saying, “You cannot deliver this person; this person cannot be set free.” Then you address the voice and say, “You, that voice talking to me, I do not want to talk to you again; I want to hear the voice of the person.” Then the voice of the person comes up.

That previous voice has taken over the person, taking possession of the person and messing up his life. That was the problem of the madman at Gadara. Nobody could bind or hold him. The demons were in charge of his life. He was cutting himself with stones; he was inflicting harm on himself. He was engaging in self-injury. There are so many people in this category.

● If there is any such person under the sound of my voice, receive your deliverance in the name of Jesus.

3. OPPRESSION: Dark powers come in to oppress a person and go away. The Bible calls it “fiery darts of the enemy”. The enemy does not want to stay long; he just oppresses and goes away. Many oppressions result in sickness, failure, trials and persecution. 95% of people going for deliverance are going due to oppression; only 5% go due to possession. So, a large number of people are oppressed. But the Bible says something very interesting which I want you to declare on your life twenty-one times now. It says, “Oppression shall be far away from thee.” “Thou shalt be far from oppression.”

Raise up your right hand and shout twenty-one times:

● Oppression shall be far away from me, by the power in the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.

● I decree that thou shalt be far from oppression, in the name of Jesus.

4. DEPRESSION: A heavy load put on the spirit and soul, making the person depressed, sad, low-spirited, sorrowful, discouraged, gloomy, and having a spirit of helplessness, a spirit of avoiding people, locking oneself up, not wanting to relate with anyone, talking out of sense, and acting irrationally. That is depression.

The prayer for that one is in the words of Jesus, which say, “My yoke is easy, and my burden is light. So take my yoke upon you.” The prayer for that one which we pray a lot in MFM is “Owners of evil loads, carry your loads!” That is why the Bible says, “He gives beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, and the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.”

That spirit of heaviness is called depression. There are spirits responsible for it. This is why many times, drugs do not work because there is a spirit responsible for it. The drugs may calm you down just for you not to feel the effect of the load, but once the effect of the drugs clears up, the load is back. Raise up your right hand and twenty-one times without any apology, shout at the top of your voice:

● Owners of evil load, hear the Word of the Lord: carry your load in the name of Jesus.

5. SUPPRESSION: They suppress the person. The person is not dead; the person is breathing, working, and getting a salary, but the enemies have decided, “This is how far you can go. You cannot go further.” The person struggles and struggles to pass entrance exam into a school. So what he is supposed to do in one year, it takes him ten years. He writes exams, but the exam sheets are disappearing.

I know somebody like that. It was when she came to MFM for prayers that they discovered her answer sheets in archives that somebody had put there, whereas they said she did not take the exams. For such a person, the enemy is not killing her; he is just suppressing her.

This is why the Bible says, “These are the horns that have scattered Judah so that Judah cannot lift his head.” These are the voices called ‘silencers’. They silence the person so that you do not hear their voice.

● I am praying by the anger of the Holy Ghost: anyone here that the enemy wants to silence your voice, let every conspiracy of the silencers backfire, in the name of Jesus.

NOW, THE TOOLS TO EXECUTE DELIVERANCE:

1. The first tool is repentance. Sometimes by just repentance, the enemy leaves you alone. Repentance closes any door open to the enemy. Repentance weakens the position of the enemy. Repentance restores the authority back to the believer, and he is able to fight back now. But when there is no repentance and you say, “Get out of my life!” they reply, “No, you are still doing this. We will not listen to you.” They too are legal experts. “You are still drinking, smoking, and committing fornication; no, our junior brothers and sisters are still inside. So we cannot leave you alone.” Repent from every known sin.
2. The blood of Jesus. Like we have been teaching every Wednesday, the Bible says, “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb…..”
3. The Word of God: Hebrews 4:12 tells us, “For the Word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” The Word of God separates those things that we thought are not possible to separate. Meaning, you must know your Bible. Read the Bible. Memorise the Bible. Have a regular order of Bible study. Let the Word of God become your daily bread. Let it become the food you eat. A dusty Bible leads to a possessed life. The Bible is more than just Psalms reading. Psalms is just one book in the Bible. You must understand the whole Word of God and know scriptures that back you up.
4. The voice of the Lord: Maybe now, you will begin to understand some MFM prayers like “owners of evil loads, hear the Word of the Lord”, “my head, hear the Word of the Lord, arise and shine”. When you pray like that, you are using the weapon of the voice of the Lord. I did not say “hear the voice of the pastor” or “hear the voice of one prophet.” I want to encourage you to memorise Psalms 29:3-5. They will not be too difficult to memorise.

Psalms 29:3-5 (KJV) says, “The voice of the LORD is upon the waters (If your problem is from marine kingdom, his voice is upon the waters): the God of glory thundereth (we have prayed here this morning, “by the thunder of His power”): the LORD is upon many waters (including the one in your village they say you should not drink or fish from). The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty. The voice of the LORD breaketh the cedars; yea, the LORD breaketh the cedars of Lebanon.”

When you begin to pray “the voice of the Lord”, you are praying a strong prayer.

5. The sword of the Lord: You can use that sword by faith to cut the enemy to pieces. You can use the sword by faith to cut all the ropes of bondage and to decree that you are free. Look at Isaiah 27:1.

Isaiah 27:1 (KJV): “In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.”

6. The anointing oil: Jesus gave a mandate to His disciples to carry the oil. The Bible says, “Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.”

The oil is the symbol of the Holy Spirit. The oil is effective in deliverance to heal sicknesses and cast out demons, and that is why we pray on oil here in MFM.

This is where we will stop this morning, and we will continue another time.

PRAYER POINTS
[Before Message]

1. Where is the Lord God of Elijah? Arise, fight for me now, in the name of Jesus.
2. O God, arise by the thunder of your power; pursue my pursuers in the name of Jesus.

[After Message]

1. Yokes hiding my beauty, break, in the name of Jesus.
2. My testimonies in the camp of the enemies, come out now, in the name of Jesus.
3. Every night battle gathered to bring me down; die in the name of Jesus.
4. Every evil tongue rising against me, shut up, in the name of Jesus.
5. Every demonic assignment, over my (mention what you want here), break, in the name of Jesus.
6. Powers slowing down my speed, you are liars: die, in the name of Jesus.
7. Testimony attackers, you shall not prevail over me: die, in the name of Jesus.
8. Powers that are saying I will not go far, you are liars: die, in the name of Jesus.
9. Wasters surrounding my life, scatter, in the name of Jesus.
10. Powers of delay and stagnancy, I am not your candidate: die, in the name of Jesus.
11. I shall not surrender; my enemies shall surrender, in the name of Jesus.
12. My Father, exceed my expectations and make me laugh, in the name of Jesus.
13. My Father, bring my stubborn enemies to their knees, in the name of Jesus.
14. Powers that want me to be a victim of blockage at the edge of breakthroughs, die, in the name of Jesus.
15. Every voice of the dead, interfering in my life, die, in the name of Jesus.
