Topic: THE MINISTRY OF PERSONAL DELIVERANCE (12)
Text: Daniel 10:12-13, Mark 8:22-26

If you were here last week, I began to explain to you that there are several layers of personal deliverance. We began to look at another layer last week: the layer of environmental deliverance.
Daniel had been praying and fasting for twenty-one days; nothing seemed to be happening. But then, something happened at the tail end of the matter. An angel was sent to him. Let us see what happened. Let us study deeply what this angel was trying to put across.
Daniel 10:12 (KJV): “Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.”
(Just see. Twenty-one days of praying and fasting. This angel said, “Right from the first day you started the prayers, the answers were sent”.)
Daniel 10:13 (KJV): “But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: (preventing the angel from bringing the answer for twenty-one days. Thank God Daniel did not keep quiet. If after ten days he stopped, the angel would have gone back) but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.”
What is the main message we can pick from here? Every geographical location has its own characteristic evil power controlling it. Every government of any nation has another government in the spirit realm controlling it. Every locality has its own characteristic demon controlling it. That is why there are demons controlling Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, and Delta tribes, and the characteristics are different.
Abroad too, like in the United States of America and China, there are principalities controlling different places. Some people call them territorial powers. But that is not where I am going this morning. The point I am trying to make is this: we are all products of our environments.
For example, my father was in the police force. We grew up in the police barracks. And there, the lingua franca is pidgin English. So it was there I learnt how to speak pidgin English. If you take two infants born in Nigeria and leave one in the village and take the other to England or the UK, after forty years, bring them together. By the time you bring them together, you will notice that their spoken English, language, fashion, foods, and friends will be different. Why? Environment. So, an environment where you grow can waste you or can water you.
There are some houses you move into, and you come out with nothing. You take in a car and leave without a car. You take in testimonies and leave without testimonies.
There would have been no book of Esther if she were somewhere else. It was that environment that watered her. Listen o: The wife you married, the schools you attended, and the friends or enemies you make are all tied to where you have been. Perhaps this will explain why God sometimes insists on specific locations.
God is everywhere, but He does not do everything everywhere. God called Abraham out of his location, that environment of his father’s house, to bless him elsewhere in seven folds. If he did not relocate to Canaan, he would not be blessed by God. So you can see a connection between destiny and locations.
Some locations are hazardous to destiny. You may say, “I must leave Nigeria and go to another location,” but you could go to a location that is hazardous to your destiny.
Some locations are more prone to witchcraft attacks than others. Some places are like covens, and not everyone is strong enough to face these kinds of things. No pastor will be helping you to roam around your compound or sleep with you on your bed. This is why you must learn this personal deliverance by yourself.
No matter the amount of manure you put on a concrete floor, it cannot be a first-class garden. There is a power relationship between destiny and locations. Merely living in the wrong environment can bury your destiny.
All fish are fish, but not all fish can survive in the same water. If you take a mudskipper and put it in the sea, that is its end.
If you take a fish from the sea and drop it in the mud, that is its end. There is no amount of prayer points a monkey can pray and leave the tree to live in the water. So, people and businesses sometimes suffer from the environmental forces, rather than mismanagement.
There is a place in this Lagos where businesses start and disappear. Big names rise up and go down. We do not hear of them again. I will not mention the name of the area, though, so you will not run away.
Mark 8:22-25 (KJV) says, “And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him. And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought. And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking.”
(Jesus had to give him a second touch).
“After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly.”
I want to pray a strong prayer now. For those who love their destiny, their tenfold amen must shake hell.
● I decree upon your life that any area of your life where you need the second touch of Jesus, receive it in the name of Jesus.
Jesus touched him a second time, and he saw clearly. For the King of kings to have to touch a person twice shows how deep, stubborn, and strong his problems and battles were.
Mark 8:26 (KJV) says, “And he sent him away to his house, saying, Neither go into the town, nor tell it to any in the town.”
Strange. Do you not think so? Jesus saying “You have been healed now; do not go to that town. Do not tell anybody there.”
● I am praying for somebody here: Every village witchcraft that has followed you to anywhere you are, with a sevenfold amen, bury them, in the name of Jesus.
What a strange story. Why would Jesus not heal that man in that town? Or are there some miracles that can only be performed in certain locations? These are the questions. Does it mean that there are some locations that resist divine intervention? The answer is Yes. That is why Jesus took him away from that evil environment.
● I am praying for somebody here today: I decree that all your environmental witchcraft must scatter, in the name of Jesus.
Are there locations that are fighting the moving of the power of God? That contest it? Jesus told the man to go to his house and banned him from the town. Why? It means that some environments are testimony swallowers.
It was somewhere in Iwaya years back. This block of six or eight flats was close to the University of Lagos. One brother, a lecturer from this church, and some other lecturers rented the flats there.
One day, this brother called the other tenants and said, “I feel something is wrong in this compound. We all brought in cars, but they have all packed up. Since we entered here, only the landlord celebrates the naming ceremony and has things to rejoice about. No woman that is a tenant there has got pregnant.” So he told the lecturers that he wanted to move out. They laughed at him, saying, “Superstition. Those are the kinds of stories you hear in your church, is that not so?”
Anyway, the brother moved out, and as soon as he moved, he began to prosper. When the other lecturers noticed, one of them started coming here. He heard me preach one day about environmental trouble, and I said that they should anoint their compounds with oil that day after the programme. He took the oil to the compound. Something was telling him, “There is a well in this compound. Anoint that well first.” So he did. All of a sudden, he saw something swimming inside the well. He put out a bucket and tried to fish out the thing. He was surprised that as he brought it up, it was sounding metallic.
He brought out a live tortoise with a phylactery attached to it. By the sides there was a written thing containing the names of all the tenants. The lecturer was scared. It was then he left that house. There are some environments that resist divine intervention, that fight testimonies, and that fight against miracles. The only way out in that environment is to either relocate or fight. Jesus banned the man from the town after he was healed. He was sent to his house in a different location. Then Jesus further advised him against giving testimony in that demonic location. He was banned from connecting to anyone in that town. Was there a connection between that location and the problem? Would going back there have exposed him to fresh blindness?
If that Bethsaida was a no-go area, what was Jesus Himself doing there? Or was this blindness an environmental affliction? Are some problems physically or spiritually connected to environments? The answer is Yes.
From these 2 passages we have read, can you raise up your right hand and shout at the top of your voice:
● Glory killers, destiny killers, in my environment: die, in the name of Jesus.
So there is something in the school of deliverance known as spiritual environmental sanitation, meaning:
- the cleansing and maintaining of the spiritual purity of your surroundings.
- Removing spiritual impurities from your environment through prayer and fasting. Since most people cannot build their houses, if you are living in a place, you most probably do not know what they buried at the entrance of the house, so you must learn how to do it.
- Cleaning your environment from spiritual negative influences – I want you to understand this very well.
One day, I and my wife were in London. We were to enter one house, but we were waiting for someone to join us. We were not at the door yet; we were at the front of another house. An old white woman crossed the road to meet us and said, “Darling, good morning,” and we responded. She continued, “I hope you are not trying to buy this house?” We replied, “No”. She said again, “Because the last three owners died of heart attacks.”
So, the old woman living around knew that anyone who bought that house we were standing in front of bought heart attacks. You want to be selling your wares in the market? You want profit on your business? This is something you must learn to do. For most people, it is not mismanagement or the economy; it is the environment affecting the businesses.
If you must create a stall in the market, you must draw the blood of Jesus over your corner. Most marketplaces are covens. In fact, to be quite honest, if you enter into a market and God opens your eyes, you will not buy anything; you will probably run out. Some are selling foodstuff, but they are upside down spiritually. Some of what they are selling is opposite to what you are seeing. The oil may be blood.
You may say, “Ah! Since our local market is like this, I will go to the supermarket.” That one is worse because there, there are items from Ghana, South Africa, Canada, and the UK, and their spirits will accompany them to come. So it is not in vain that the Bible says, “Pray on your food before eating; bless it.” Or if you have Manna Water by your side, you drink it.
There is something known as environmental deliverance; it is both biblical and spiritual. The Bible makes it clear. An environment can be under the siege of the enemy and be defiled. A land can be defiled by sin and evil practices. If you are here as a lady and one married man is taking you to a hotel to sleep with you, know that “You don collect.” All kinds of things are roaming around. You do not even know if the last person who slept on that bed before you had demons. Evil spirits can attach themselves to one location. If they are in that place and God did not ask you to go and you go, there is a problem. Curses and covenants made on a land can block blessings. Many battles are not really personal but environmental.
If you are used to personal deliverance,
- it frees you from heartaches.
- it gives you freedom from fear, confusion, and demonic harassment and helps you to maintain your protection.
Then, God can bless or curse an environment. If you are in an environment God has cursed, it is a serious problem. Go and look at all those towns where slaves were being taken abroad; they are always backwards because of the curses issued by the slaves who were taken away from their homes by force. Every environment has spiritual memory. But the beauty is that prayers can cleanse and reclaim the environment. It can be set free. Personal deliverance must always include environmental justice. Anywhere there are idols, idolatry brings an aura of demons into a place. You and I must be agents of environmental deliverance.
As we do environmental deliverance, we bring in environmental blessings. When there are demons in an environment, it can be oppressive. Some people doze off in their office and sleep soundly, but immediately they enter their houses, oppression will start. So personal deliverance also involves environmental deliverance. You need to learn how to take authority over your environment. You need to learn how to anoint your environment. You need to learn how to pray the blood of Jesus over your environment.
You need to draw a circle around your place of birth and decree that any witchcraft bird flying is minus your head space. We continue next time.

- Company of wasters surrounding my life, destroy yourselves, in the name of Jesus.
- Every demonic assignment over my life, break, in the name of Jesus.
- Where is the Lord God of Elijah? Put me in your envelope of fire, in the name of Jesus. (a sevenfold amen).
