Topic: THE TONGUES OF MYSTERIES
Text: 1 Corinthians 14:2, Acts 2:1-4, Psalms 57:8

If you are living in a crazy world, you need to be a little bit crazy to survive. If you are living in a strange world, you need a bit of strangeness to survive. If you are living in a mysterious world, you need to become mysterious to have victory. And right now, beloveth, I can officially tell you that there are thousands of mysterious problems that worry people, problems that cannot be explained, that are baffling.

A mystery is something baffling, something that is concealed, something perplexing, something strange. You cannot expect to live in a mysterious world without being mysterious yourself, and you want to survive. It is not possible. A little bit of mystery is necessary. And the LORD has not left us in darkness at all.

1 Corinthians 14:2 (KJV) says, “For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries”

You need a tongue of mystery to collect back all your glory. Tonight is a serious night here. You need to get yourself prepared.

Acts 2:1-4 (KJV) says, “And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”

The Holy Ghost does not speak in tongues; it is you who will speak in tongues. It is Him who fills; it is you who will do the speaking. If anybody is teaching you that something will just fall upon you and you will begin to speak uncontrollably, it is a lie. “They began to speak in tongues…” The Holy Ghost just gave them utterance.

The power of the tongue is a very serious matter. That tongue can control the whole of a man’s life. That tongue can sell off the whole of your glory. And when that tongue is not put under control of the Holy Ghost, it destroys a glory forever.

● May your glory not be destroyed, in the name of Jesus.

Those men gathered together in those days and were building the tower of Babel, and they kept building on and on. God had to come down and say, “Ahn ahn. This tower that these men are building, how do we stop them?” He confused their tongues and scattered them. Their tongues scattered, and immediately, their project scattered.

All God did was just to touch the tongues.

The tongue has a scattering power. That is why I tell you here that your tongue is:

• the pilot of your aircraft.
• The compass of your life.
• The control room of your life.
• The engine room of your life.
• The driver of your car.

The Bible says that your tongue is your glory. In the book of Psalms, you see tongues interchanged with glory.

Psalms 57:8 (KJV) says, “Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.”

Your tongue is your glory. Your tongue needs to be possessed by the power of the Holy Spirit. Listen very carefully, beloveth, when we pray in tongues, demons are confused because they do not know or understand what you are saying. That is why it is not good to say you want to recover your glory and you have not received the baptism of the Holy Spirit with evidence of speaking in tongues.

Because if you say that you want to recover your glory, and the power of God is not in your life, one day a strong man may come in the dream and say, “Hand it back to me!” And because you have no power, you are just going to church; you have not been baptised in the Holy Spirit, you are not praying in tongues, or you are praying in the copycat kind of tongues, and the enemy steals from you.

When we pray in tongues, demons are confused. And sometimes emergencies come up; you want to pray, but you do not know what to pray; you do not know exactly what to say.

At that moment, as you pray in tongues, things happen. I remember that story of a woman. She was washing dishes in the kitchen. All of a sudden, the spirit said, “Begin to pray.” She started to pray and blast in tongues. Her son came home from school one hour later. She said to him, “Welcome.” The son said to her, “Mummy, I would have died about one hour ago. A trailer ran over everybody at the bus stop. I was the only one who escaped.” She asked, “What time was that?” He told her, and she said to him, “It was the time the Holy Spirit said, ‘Begin to pray.’”

When situations get to a level in the scriptures, heavenly language comes up. So, there are mysteries in the scriptures. Satan understands all earthly languages. The only language he does not understand is speaking in tongues.

When you do not speak in tongues, you are not speaking mysteries, and you need mysteries to tackle mysteries. So, speaking in tongues is speaking mysteries. He said, “For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.”

● May the Lord anoint your tongue tonight to speak mysteries, in the name of Jesus.

Speaking in tongues apart from speaking mysteries is like a parable. You speak in tongues to communicate mysteries because tongues speaking is a language of the Holy Spirit.

The Bible says, “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” So that tongues helps our infirmities in our prayers.

Listen, beloveth, it is not everything you want to say that can be said with human language. Sometimes, you are so overwhelmed that you cannot even find human language to describe what you are going through. At that level, you go into speaking mysteries.

Speaking in tongues:

• lifts burdens.
• Saturates the environment. And this is a very serious matter.
• Clears the cloud over your head. As we go about our daily duties, people use their heads and bodies to collect all kinds of dust here and there. Speaking in tongues clears the cloud away. And I challenge you that if you can decide that every day you want to pray in tongues for one hour, by the time you do it for one month, your life will have changed. You will not be the same. It is not a prayer; it is a fact.

● May you possess a tongue of mysteries here tonight, in the name of Jesus.

When you speak in tongues,

• it builds you up. All the great men in the faith have employed this method I am telling you of. Paul said, “I thank my God that I speak in tongues more than you all.” He was very grateful that he could do it.

Listen: anything that the Bible says is good for the Apostles is good for us too. In fact, the sign of Christianity is not the cross. The sign of Christianity is the cloven tongues of fire of the Holy Ghost.

• It opens scriptures to you, using the mysterious power of the Holy Ghost.

You have a weapon to counteract the mysterious forces of darkness.

A lady in this fellowship was sitting in her sitting room and reading her book. All of a sudden, she felt something biting her leg. By the time she looked, it was a wall gecko. Normally, wall geckos do not bite people. So that fearful animal came all the way from the wall to come down and bite her?

Of course she knew that it was not an ordinary wall gecko. She started to pray in tongues on top of the wall gecko. It could not move. She anointed the wall gecko, and it died.

In the next ten minutes, they were knocking on her door and asking, “Are you in this room? Are you dead or alive? Did you hear people shouting outside?” She replied, “Ah! No o!” They exclaimed, “The landlady just died!” She then replied, “I see. So that is the Mrs. Wall gecko. That is it.”

● May all satanic animals dispatched against you go back to the senders, in the name of Jesus.

So, to be robbed of that gift is to be robbed of mysteries. The Bible says, “Speaking in tongues edifies.” It recharges your battery. It is the charger of the believer. Sometimes as a Christian, you are run down by virtue of usage or the things that are surrounding you. So when your spirit man is down, you begin to pray to recharge yourself.

Speaking in tongues:

• is a medium of spiritual stabilisation. Try and understand this very well. Do not get yourself confused. There is a difference between the language of tongues and the gift of tongues. The language of tongues is for all believers. The gift of tongues is for people who get it. That is, a person can speak diverse tongues. That one is a gift. But the language is for all Christians. So there is a general class language, but the gift of tongues is for a special class. Paul said, “I will pray with my understanding; I will pray with the spirit also.”
• dissolves discouragement. The Bible says, “Every tongue that rises against you in judgement, thou shalt condemn.” The tongues of the wicked men are soaked in incantations and concoctions, but you are not soaking yourself in tongues.

When they use that their tongue to rise against you, you need a realm of mysteries to cancel it. If you keep quiet, the enemy will disgrace you, because a closed mouth is a closed destiny. The tongue of the enemy is soaked in charms, in magic, and in incantations. You must soak your own tongue in the Holy Ghost. And the longer you speak in tongues, the stronger you become.

• is an anti-contaminant, a spiritual detergent from the dust of life.
• Connects the heavenlies to your life and takes your battle to the heavenlies.
• is praying high-voltage prayer. Without that ability, complete victory is impossible because many of us are battling now with what our grandfathers have done, and you do not know the mysteries they entered into, and now you want to counter those mysteries. Ordinary tongues will not do it.

PRAYER POINTS

[Before Message]

1. Power to shout “victory at last”, fall upon me in the name of Jesus.
2. Every pot cooking my glory, break, in the name of Jesus.
3. Every local coven, hear the word of the Lord: I am not your candidate; catch fire in the name of Jesus.

[After Message]

1. Holy Ghost Fire, recover my glory, in the name of Jesus.
2. Power to recover my glory, come upon my tongue, in the name of Jesus.
3. Powers that want me to expire before my glory, die, in the name of Jesus.
4. Thou power of bad luck, you are a liar; die in the name of Jesus.
5. Thou power of inherited hardship, you are a liar; die in the name of Jesus.
6. Witchcraft powers flying to arrest my progress, fall down and die, in the name of Jesus.
7. Any problem assigned to ridicule me, your time is up; die in the name of Jesus.
8. Foundational strongman attacking my star, die, in the name of Jesus.
9. Power of delayed blessings, your time is up; die in the name of Jesus.
10. Village coven, I am not your candidate; scatter, in the name of Jesus.
11. Water of confusion, swallow my enemies, in the name of Jesus.
