Theme: THE SCHOOL OF PROPHETIC WARFARE (1)
Topic: PROPHETIC CURSES AGAINST PROBLEM MOUNTAINS AND INFIRMITIES
Text: Mark 11:12-14, 20-23, Job 22:28, Jeremiah 1:10, Isaiah 65:15, 2 Kings 1:9-10
Minister: Dr. Daniel Olukoya (G.O. MFM Worldwide)
This morning, we are starting a series of teachings. Open your Bible with me this morning so that you can understand the teachings.” He was trying to make us understand:
Mark 11:12-14 (KJV) says: “And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry: And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet. And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.”
Jesus cursed the fig tree.
Mark 11:20 (KJV): “And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.”
That curse was like a termite eating it from that root. In the morning when the disciples came, they found out that the tree had dried from the roots.
Mark 11:21-23 (KJV) says: “And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever (not pastor, apostle, bishop, catechist, whosoever, which includes you and me) shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass (look at the next sweeping statement); he shall have whatsoever he saith.”
This is really powerful. Jesus was teaching something. He issued a curse on the fig tree, and it dried up. He told them that in the same way, if there is a mountain standing in your way, you too can curse the mountain and move it away from where it is.
But you should not doubt in your heart, and it shall be so. Nobody’s name was attached to “Whosoever”. It did not say only pastor, bishop or evangelist; we all have the authority once you are a child of God to make pronouncements.
Job 22:28 (KJV) says: “Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.”
Jeremiah 1:10 (KJV) says: “See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms,”
- to root out,
- and to pull down,
- to destroy,
- to throw down,
- to build, and
- to plant.
Jeremiah would destroy, and he would plant. Negative and positive. He was empowered to do all. The pronouncement and utterance that will destroy a thing is different from the utterance that will build a thing. Meaning that the prayers that will root out, pull down, and destroy are different from the prayers that will build and plant. Two opposite kinds of utterances: decrees and prayers.
Jesus did not leave us in any doubt. In the book of Luke, we see something:
Luke 10:19 (KJV) says: “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all (not some) the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
Beloveth, if there are no problems, there cannot be victory. When the Bible says, “They that come against shall flee from before your face…” for the enemies to flee from your face, they must first of all have come against you. They will come in one way and flee in seven ways.
I am praying for someone here who can shout a sevenfold, volcanic and non-compromising amen:
- All the enemies coming against you from any coven shall scatter in seven ways, in the name of Jesus.
Beloveth, remember the devil has over 6,000 years of experience. He does not mind you shouting and praying here; he will come to you when you are on your own.
That is why you need to become your own prophet, pastor, and prayer warrior because no pastor will come and sleep in your house with you or watch over you at night. It does not matter the shouting here; he will visit you individually at home.
This is why all believers in MFM and everywhere need to be able to stand on their own. When an able-bodied man is getting a bath by a woman at the beach, then there is a problem. I saw that event happening. I waited for them to finish. When the man came out, I asked, “But why?”
He said, “My son, it is a problem.” Then I further asked him, “Will this remove your problem?” because they have just brought you here to covenant you to marine spirits.” He did not listen to me; he said, “You are a small child.” Each person needs to be able to stand strong.
Now as a Bible student, when you begin to study curses in the Bible, you make a number of outstanding discoveries. I am discussing one of them today. You will discover that God is the first curser in the Bible. He cursed Adam, Eve and the serpent.
God was the first to use the weapon of curses. So curses and blessings were central to the person of God Himself. The God of the Old and New Testaments curses with disastrous consequences and blesses with delightful consequences.
The great heroes of faith in the Bible were effective cursers and blessers. When they cursed or blessed a person or thing, they stayed cursed or blessed. God told Abraham, “Any man that blesses you is blessed, and any man that curses you is cursed.”
Jesus and the apostles too followed suit. Just as we are called to follow the example of Jesus in healing, preaching and evangelism, we are also called to bless and curse with His authority, getting similar results. It is not all prayers that are ‘back to sender’, no. As believers, our yes should be yes, and our no, no.
The Bible prohibits believers from swearing. As Christians, we need to understand the principle of being effective cursers. This is a serious matter, and I want you to understand very well.
Raise up your right hand, and with the way you want God to touch you, pray this prayer:
- O God, arise, empower my tongue, in the name of Jesus.
Isaiah 65:15 (KJV) says: “And ye shall leave your name for a curse unto my chosen: for the Lord GOD shall slay thee, and call his servants by another name:”
That verse states that God’s chosen one will curse when it is necessary.
2 Kings 1:9-10 (KJV) says: “Then the king sent unto him a captain of fifty with his fifty. And he went up to him: and, behold, he sat on the top of an hill. And he spake unto him, Thou man of God, the king hath said, Come down. And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, If I be a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And there came down fire from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.”
Elijah issued a curse on those men who asked him to come down, and they died.
WHAT ARE THE PROPHETIC CURSES? Prophetic curses:
- Are divine authoritative declarations of judgements or misfortune spoken by a prophet, spiritual person or believer? The Bible says, “No weapon formed against thee shall prosper, and any tongue that rises against you in judgement, thou shalt condemn.” When we say “condemn”, it is not a walk in the park.
- Are legal instruments in spiritual warfare recognised by heaven.
- Are words that awaken angels to execute God’s judgements.
- Are divine sentences against wicked structures.
- Are commands that dissolve hidden spiritual barriers.
- Are words that condemn spirits behind sickness, poverty, delay and so on.
- Are authoritative declarations recognised both in heaven and on earth.
- Are heavenly decrees that are recognised and enforced by angels in the spirit realm.
- Are God-ordained commands that compel spiritual forces to obey divine judgements.
- Are tools given to believers to enforce God’s will and confront satanic opposition.
This is why the psalmist is known for his warfare. He faced trouble. The president of his country was pursuing him, a small boy, all over the place. His family did not recognise him as a member. If he wanted to be a governor in his locality, his father would not even vote for Jim. He was consigned to the back of the desert. He knew that he had battles to fight.
Many who have battles to fight are still dancing away in many churches that cannot deliver them. Many have danced for years and found that the enemy is becoming stronger. The psalmist was an authority at issuing prophetic curses. He wrote:
- Let the way of the wicked be dark and slippery (Psalms 35:6).
- Let violence overtake those pursuing the righteous (Psalms 35:8).
- Let their own net catch their feet (Psalms 35:8).
- Let shame and dishonour cover their heads (Psalms 35:26).
Please, it is not MFM who wrote this. The psalmist wrote:
- Let those plotting evil against me be consumed unaware (Psalms 35:8).
- Let destruction surprise my enemies suddenly (Psalms 35:8).
- Let their habitation become desolate; let there be no one to dwell in it (Psalms 69:25).
- Let their tables become traps for them; when they eat, the food will go the wrong way. (Psalms 69:22).
- Let darkness cover their eyes (Psalms 69:23).
- Let weakness seize their loins (Psalms 69:23).
- Let their names be blotted out from the record of the living (Psalms 69:28).
- Let them be scattered like chaff before the wind (Psalms 35:5).
- Let the angel of the lord chase them continually (Psalms 35:5).
- Let their mischief return upon their own heads (Psalms 7:16).
- Let sudden fear overtake them. (Psalms 48:6).
- Let their devices fall back upon them (Psalms 10:2).
Let those plotting harm be turned back in confusion (Psalms 35:4).
Let every evil tongue used against the righteous be silenced (Psalms 31:18)
These are prophetic curses. We do not attack human beings; it is the evil spirits within them.
- Moses pronounced plagues and curses upon Egypt to enforce God’s will. He wrote Deuteronomy 28, which says, “Cursed shalt thou be in the field; cursed shalt thou be in the field.” He wrote them.
- Joshua cursed the man to rebuild Jericho and declared consequences for the disobedience. He said, “Cursed be the man that riseth to build this city.” He shall lay the foundation in his firstborn, and he shall set up the gates in his youngest son” (Joshua 6:26). Many years later somebody built Jericho, and the curses manifested in his life.
- Elijah pronounced a curse of drought over Israel to confront idolatry and disobedience over Israel (1 Kings 17). He pronounced judgement over the prophets of Baal. “There shall be no dew or rain except by my word.” He also said, “If I be a man of God, let fire fall.”
- Elisha caused the youths mocking him, and wild bears devoured them. He looked at his servant Gehazi, who went to collect a bribe and said, “The leprosy of Naaman shall cleave to you….” I wish he had stopped there, but he did not. He added “…and to your offspring forever”.
- Noah cursed Canaan and said, “Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.” And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant. God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.”
- Jacob cursed the anger of his children Simeon and Levi, who were violent.
- God told Isaac, “Cursed be everyone that curseth thee.”
- Jeremiah issued a curse when he said, “Woe to him that put trust in man.” He also said, “Cursed be him that doeth the work of God deceitfully.”
- Isaiah cursed and said, “Woe to them that call evil good, woe to them that decree evil decree.” If you look through scriptures, you will see it all over.
- Gideon pronounced curses over Abimelech and Shechem for their betrayal.
- Deborah curses Meroz.
- Jehu cursed Ahab’s house.
- Peter cursed a man who offered him money to buy the gift of God. He said, “Thy money perish with thee.” He cursed Ananias and Sapphira, who came to tell lies in the church.
- Paul cursed Elymas the sorcerer and said, “Thou shalt be blind….” But Paul was kinder; he added “….for a season”. If he said “forever”, that would have been it.
- Jesus Himself pronounced ‘woe’, which is a form of prophetic curse. “Woe to you lawyers who take the key of knowledge. You build sepulchres of prophets.” “Woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed.” In some places in scripture, Jesus said, “If you go to preach and they do not allow you, shake the dust off your feet.” Wherever any evangelist or missionary does that, judgement will visit that environment.
WHAT ARE INFIRMITIES?
- Disorders of the body that can weaken a man or woman.
- Sometimes, things that carry generational or inherited patterns.
- Can be something that happens in the body to reduce lifespan or quality of life.
- Bodily limitations.
WHAT ARE PROBLEM MOUNTAINS?
- Natural or spiritual blockages that prevent success.
- Barriers in your finances, health, relationship or destiny.
- Fear or doubt that stops you from moving forward.
- Delays or setbacks.
- Embargoes.
Listen beloveth, we do not play with this. The Holy Spirit can prompt a believer to utter a curse against an evil establishment, infirmity, or problem mountain.
Beloveth, the power of the tongue is measureless, whether for good or evil.
Unprofitable trees growing in any life should be attacked as recommended by the Lord. The unprofitable trees and hindering mountains are candidates for uprooting. That curse is a command spoken audibly or silently to the situation, thing or evil spirit within the person. It is not a prayer. We pray to the heavenly Father.
The phrases used, though, are similar to Biblical ones. “Be rooted up.” “Dry to the roots.” “Be cast into the sea.” “Be removed from this place.”
With our authority, we can command, curse and kill roots of sicknesses. You can issue a curse on diabetes and on cancer to dry their roots. After issuing these curses, you can issue curses against embargoes and problem mountains and say, “Be removed,” “Dry up,” or “Scatter.” You may not feel different immediately because the death has not reached its roots yet.
You can issue curses on roots of sickness and command them to die. The destiny of unprofitable trees is to make them wither from the roots. We need to be able to clearly and soundly curse the works of Satan anywhere we find it. We need to be able to soundly and clearly curse obstacles and command them to be removed.
When Goliath got to the battle field, the first thing he did was to curse David. The Bible says that he cursed David in the name of his gods. The spiritual army knew the spiritual power of curses. Fortunately, David too knew what to do. He issued a counter curse. He said, “Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.”
This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand, and I will smite thee and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcasses of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air and to the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.” The fight had not even started, yet he cursed him back.
• Anything hindering your life from moving forward is cursed this morning, in the name of Jesus (a sevenfold amen).
So if you are reading some books of MFM, or you come to this programme, and they say the theme is “speaking woe to your problem”, this is exactly what they mean: cursing the problem. When they say “Speak woe to your mountains”, it may be:
- a satanic establishment,
- a satanic citadel,
- planted sicknesses,
- planted sorrow,
- worry,
- unrest,
- strife,
- huge debt,
- constant fear,
- poverty,
- evil deposits,
- occultic arrows,
- profitless hard work,
- dream manipulations,
- satanic poison,
- evil growth,
- terminators,
- satanic program,
- placenta manipulation,
- strange occurrences.
Get yourself ready this morning to issue the curse of ‘dry up’, ‘be rooted up’, ‘be removed’. That our popular song which says, “This mountain must be removed in Jesus’ name, ‘by my Spirit’, saith the Lord,” is a curse against the mountains. When it moves, it can go back to where it came from.
PRAYER POINTS
- Problem mountains in my life, hear the Word of the Lord: dry up, in the name of Jesus.
- Problem mountains in my life, I curse you to die, in the name of Jesus.
- Infirmity in my body, dry to the roots, in the name of Jesus.
- (Mention the name of the mountain, e.g., sickness, delay, business failure, etc.), dry to the roots, in the name of Jesus.
- Every yoke in my life, hear the Word of the Lord: dry to the roots, in the name of Jesus.
