Topic: THE MYSTERY OF STUBBORN ENEMIES
Text: Joshua 11:20.
Minister: Dr. Daniel Olukoya (G.O. MFM Worldwide)
Joshua 11:20 (KJV) says: “For it was of the LORD to harden their hearts, that they should come against Israel in battle, that he might destroy them utterly, and that they might have no favour, but that he might destroy them, as the LORD commanded Moses.”
Listen carefully to the message of tonight, as it is a prayer message.
Now, there is a group of opposers, a group of antagonists, and a group of confronters who are called “stubborn enemies.” They are bent on doing evil without looking back. They are never ready to let go of the captives. They will not give up until their victim is captured. They derive joy in oppressing their victims. They are enemies that just do not want you in the hospital; they want you dead.
They appear as slave masters to their victims. They are relentless in their attacks because they are operating under a covenant to destroy. We call them stubborn enemies. They make vows never to let their victims go. They are unrepentant.
They look for legal ground, stand, and then begin to afflict their victims. These powers are behind unfinished battles. They do not settle for less until they kill the person. This is why I want your sevenfold amen to be the loudest here:
Any power that wants to kill you before your time, wherever they are gathered, let the bulldozing power of the Holy Ghost slaughter them in the name of Jesus.
They have been assigned to destroy their victims. They are willing to bite a person without mercy, without remnant.
Unfortunately, many believers do not know that it is only death that can stop them. They are boasting enemies. They cause deep wounds to their victims. They are not to be understood; they are to be destroyed, because those stubborn enemies you fail to destroy will eventually come against you. These are enemies that want people to die undiscovered.
They are the ones that impose unexplainable illnesses on their victims. They keep a person on one spot for too long without being favoured. They tamper with people’s destiny journeys. Death and destruction are their trademarks, and they love curses. They block people from possessing their possessions. They pose obstacles to people’s forward movement. They try to close every door of goodness against a person. This is why the Bible sometimes compares them to the spirit of Pharaoh. Pharaoh was insulting and defying God.
He was employing sorcerers and magicians. He was very angry. He was drawing power from the sun, moon, stars, and the waters. He was an inflexible aggressor. These powers get more aggressive when you attempt to set yourself free. It is the spirit of embargo, the strongman fighting a person. These stubborn people employ all sorts of forces to back them up. This is why I am praying today:
Every power that has decided to make it a full-time assignment to pursue your destiny must, with a sevenfold amen, die violently, in the name of Jesus.
Now, what makes the enemy stubborn? There are various reasons. I am going to tell you several, and then we move to the last one.
The enemy becomes stubborn:
- When you stubbornly stick to your sins. You have refused to leave that sin? They too will stay and say, “As long as you are there, we are there.” Jesus said to the man at the pool of Bethesda, “Behold, you have been healed; sin no more; let a worse thing come upon you.”
Sin:
- will take you to places you never intended to go.
- will keep you in bondage.
- will make you a permanent prisoner. That your masturbation will make you a permanent prisoner. That your fornication will make you a permanent prisoner. That your gossip will make you a permanent prisoner.
The stubborn pursuer will not leave if there is a sin in your life. So when you say, “Get out!” they will say, “No, we are not getting out; you have our property in your life; you are a liar like us; you are a fornicator like us.”
So, the enemy becomes stubborn when you stubbornly stick to your own sins.
- When your parents have made promises to them. A lot of parents ignorantly make demonic promissory utterances against their children. Many people’s parents have handed them over to the pursuers. All the evil promissory notes from your parents empower stubborn pursuers.
- When an evil angel has been assigned against you. The evil angel just keeps following and pursuing the person. So when you hear us pray “follow-follow powers, die,” that is what we mean.
- When your divine destiny is considered very risky by the enemy, when they say, “The way this man or woman is going, they will become dangerous to our programme,” they then begin to become stubborn to stop you.
- When you have been involved in multiple covenants, he then climbs on those unbroken covenants to start tormenting you. You sleep with A, form a sexual covenant with that person, and collect some demons from them. You move to B, sleep with that person, and collect some demons from them.
You know, sex is not a physical thing; it is a spiritual thing. When you have sex with somebody, some parts of you go into that person, and some parts of that person go into you. When you move to C and have sex with them, their demons get into you, and your demons also get into them. And you are going about increasing the number of people you are sleeping with.
I have seen a woman who counted four hundred and five people she slept with at the age of 32. So she had over 405 covenants to break. Of course, the enemy will not leave her alone; he will keep pursuing her because of those covenants.
- When somebody is under multiple curses.
- When his property is in your life.
- When you allow him to enjoy using you as practice, they just use you as practice since they find you very easy to dwell with. So they stay inside.
- When a strongman has been assigned against you.
- When you have been unconsciously initiated. A person could be a blind witch or a blind familiar spirit. Somebody gave you food, and you ate the food, and then the food initiated you into something else. Or somebody gave you a ring and you wore it, which has initiated you into something else.
Or somebody gave you some clothes to wear; you did not know where the clothes were coming from, but you just wore them. Then you just find yourself in their meeting. So when a person has been initiated, the enemy will remain stubborn, whether you are conscious of it or not.
- When you were a former satanic agent, and you are now trying to break free.
- When the problem is sponsored by ancestral powers. When it is in the blood, it is in the ancestry, it is in the family line, and you are now trying to get out of it, when everyone has been put under a collective umbrella of captivity.
- When the problem is supervised by marine powers. I am explaining all these to you so you can know how to pray tonight. A lot of people are worried, “Why is it like this? Why is this problem like this?”
- When a person is living in a demonised house, because once you are living on top of an altar, there is a transport of spirits. An altar is a place of transaction of spirits, where spirits go up and down, whether negative or positive.
- When you have a bad name, a name that links you up with the enemy, does your name have the name of an idol in it? The enemy becomes stubborn.
- When you are harbouring an abomination in your house.
- When the Lord hardens their hearts in order to destroy them, God is a God of love. But God is also a God of justice and consuming fire. Nobody wants to be fighting wars all the time, but sometimes it is that war that can bring peace and enlarge your territory.
You have to fight:
- to defend yourself,
- to enlarge your territory,
- to protect what you have,
- in order for the enemy not to overun you. Peace lovers will often try to avoid fighting at every possible cost, but sometimes it is God that sets the peace lover to go and fight, so He can use that fight to permanently eliminate their coasts and territories, thereby enlarging their territories.
According to Joshua 11:20 that we just read, it was God’s strategy to let those neighbourly nations be so stubborn as to refuse peace from Israel so that they could start the war. So when they started the war and were destroyed in the war that they started, their territory was lost to Israel. And even if they went to the court of God to appeal, favour would have been removed because they started it.
If they did not cause any trouble and were attacked, the hands of justice of God would fight for them or defend them because they were innocent people. It is true that wars could be very costly, but some battles are necessary, and some battles might be unnecessary. Some battles are inevitable; they must be fought because the long-term battle you have been fighting may be the key to your enlargement and expansion of your territory.
As far as the Bible is concerned, the only excuse for God to enter into that battle is for the enemy to, first of all, start attacking you. Then God comes in to fight in your favour. This is one reason the enemy can be stubborn. The Bible says that God hardened the heart of Pharaoh so that he might be destroyed.
I am praying for somebody here today: all the hardened enemies that are against you; your prayers tonight shall destroy them, in the name of Jesus.
The Bible says, “He has prepared a table before me in the presence of my enemies.” You see, that table He has set there in the presence of your enemies—the route by which you will get there sometimes is through the valley of the shadow of death.
So, the good Shepherd will sometimes lead His people through that route. If Haman did not attack Mordecai, there would be no way Mordecai would replace him in his position. He was the one who went to attack Mordecai first, but by the time God moved in, Haman was removed, and Mordecai was used to replace him.
“For it was of the LORD to harden their hearts, that he might destroy them utterly, but that he might destroy them,”. So many of the problems we are complaining about are merely messengers for our enlargement and promotion. And we should be thankful to God for the battles He is bringing before us.
I am praying that your God will set a trap for all your stubborn enemies that will catch them and destroy them, in the name of Jesus.
As many people as are here today, and there is a conspiracy of darkness against your life, that conspiracy shall be scattered in the name of Jesus.
- Stubborn strongman blocking my way, die in the name of Jesus.
- (Mention your name), hear the Word of the Lord: pursue your pursuers, in the name of Jesus.
- Owners of evil load, hear the Word of the Lord; carry your load, in the name of Jesus.
- Powers assigned to scatter the table that God has prepared for me, die in the name of Jesus.
- My stubborn enemies, hear the Word of the Lord: destroy yourselves, in the name of Jesus.
- (Lay one hand on your head and the other on your chest.) Stubborn infirmities, I am not your candidate; die in the name of Jesus.
Pray on your water:
- Powers hating my laughter, you are liars; die in the name of Jesus.
- Every voice mocking my struggles, your time is up: die, in the name of Jesus.
- Stubborn strongman of my father’s house, stubborn strongman of my mother’s house: your time is up; die, in the name of Jesus.
