Topic: NEUTRALISING SATANIC PRAYERS (2)
Text: Mark 5:1–15, Proverbs 28:9, Matthew 16:21–23.

Last week, we began to look at a deep and heavy topic, and it is important that you understand this very well and pray very well.

Last week, we read the book of Luke 22:31, where the Lord told Simon Peter, “Behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat.”

We read various scriptures where the demons were telling Jesus, “Leave us alone. Have you come to destroy us before our time? We know who you are!” They were praying to Jesus to leave them alone.

We also read from the book of Numbers 22 and 23, where Balak asked Balaam to curse Israel with 7 altars, 7 bullocks, and 7 rams. 7 different altars. Seven bullocks were sacrificed, and seven rams to issue a curse.

And the Lord took it seriously and quickly intervened. And I made you understand that day that there are several categories of prayers that people pray. This is why I am going to make this decree right now. Your amen should be sevenfold.

Every satanic prayer against your life, I command the prayer to backfire, in the name of Jesus.

That day, we began to answer the question of: do demons pray? Oh yes, they do. They pray prayer points, and this is what we read from the book of Mark 5, to which we will turn again this morning before we move on very quickly. Do evil spirits pray? The answer is a resounding yes; they do.

Mark 5:1-4 (KJV): “And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes. And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains: Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him.”

This man was a professor of madness.

Mark 5:5-7 (KJV): “And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones. But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him, And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God?”

Then he prayed the first prayer point. Imagine, a demon praying. Demons pray.

“……I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.” Meaning that they knew that Jesus has the power to torment them. Meaning that you and I also have the same power to torment the enemy. I did not write it, it is in the Bible.

Mark 5:8 (KJV): “For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.”

Then Jesus noticed some resistance and asked,

Mark 5:9 (KJV): “And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.”

Then prayer point 2b
Mark 5:10 (KJV): “And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country.”

Meaning that every country, every tribe, and every and every geographical locality has its own strong man attached to it. There is a strongman in charge of the Yoruba race, the Hausa race, the Igbo race, and the Edo race assigned to river areas. And for you to work successfully in that area, you have to deal with that strong man. So the demons begged him, “Leave us in this country. Do not ask us to go away.”

Then all the demons started praying again.
Mark 5:11–12 (KJV): “Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding. And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.”

To besought means to beg passionately.

Mark 5:13 (KJV): “And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea.”

Mark 5:14 (KJV): “And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done.”

Mark 5:15 (KJV): “And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.”

The city of Gadara had a serious problem. There was a mad man on the loose. Children must be locked up. Wives must be warned not to move about carelessly. As long as he was alive, life was not safe. When men saw him, they had to get ready to run. The roads were unsafe. He was ever-ready to destroy. There was a time they got a city committee together and said, “Let us use the hardest chains to bind him.”

But the Bible says that he broke the chains like pieces of paper. The man cut himself with stones. He was dwelling in tombs. His hair was melted together. His face was unshaven. He was foaming and frothing in the mouth. Blood was flowing from his self-inflicted wounds. The clanging of chains, which he dragged around, could be heard. He did not wear clothes. All the pus from the wounds on his body was stinking. He would come at people, screaming like a wild animal.

Who was this mad man? We do not know much about this man, but we do know that he was somebody. Probably somebody’s husband. Undoubtedly somebody’s relative. Probably somebody’s daddy; we do not even know.

You can see what the demons have done with his life. What you read in this man’s story gives us an indication of how much demonic load a human being can cope with and still be standing. He told Jesus, ‘We are legion’. Legion means 6,000.

So 6,000 demons were in one man. No wonder when they went into 2000 pigs, they wasted the pigs. This man was dwelling among the dead. But it is wonderful that the power and authority of the world of Christ met him.

No power on earth or in heaven can resist the power of Jesus. When they saw the transformation of the man, they were surprised. This is a very serious matter. Demons that pray prayers. So bad spirits pray.

What are satanic prayers? What are dark prayers? You may be in Lagos here or wherever, praying and coming to church. There could be domestic witchcraft somewhere, an envious friend somewhere, or a wicked person somewhere chanting evil prayers against you, and they need to be stopped. This is why the Bible talks about day and night prayer.

The Bible says, “Will the Lord not avenge His saints who cry unto Him day and night?” There are some prayers that work during the day, and there are some prayers that work only during the night. The night is when all forces that hate light come out. And that is when they do their darkest prayers against people.

WHAT ARE SATANIC PRAYERS?

• Prayers inspired by the enemy. If you have been to a football match before, they pray all kinds of terrible prayers on the field. A person is about to score a goal, but the fans of the opponent are shouting “over the bar!” and most times, the players shoot it over the bar.
• Prayers with satanic anointing.
• Prayers outside the will of God.
• Ungodly prayers.
• Occultic prayers.
• Witchcraft prayers.

All religions pray. The religions worshipping Satan pray.

• Prayers by satanists.
• Psychic prayers.
• Prayers that are contrary to the Bible.

There are categories of satanic prayers.

1. The prayer of “torment me not”. Maybe you do not know, but when a person grabs a book like Prayer Rain or Pray Your Way to Breakthroughs and you decide not to sleep and you start praying, those prayers are firing tormenting arrows at the camp of the enemy. The prayers you pray here carry tormenting prayers in the camp of the enemy. So ‘torment me not’ prayers are prayers saying, “Leave me alone. Let me torment these people.”

These demons were praying not to be sent out of the country so that they would destroy it. They wanted to spoil their lives there.

As I told you, every country has its own characteristic demons troubling it as you go from place to place. In some places, their demon is a demon of disloyalty, treachery, and evil wisdom. In some places, their demon is fornication and adultery. In some places, their demon is money. In some places, their demon is wastage. In some places, their demon is laziness.

Every locality has its own resident demon. You do not go to Europe, and when you want to minister, you begin to bind the spirit of Ogbanje, or polygamy. It is not the kind of spirit troubling them. You address the spirits of depression, drunkenness, suicide, and physical blood drinkers.

Why do evil spirits prefer some people more than others? Some spirits prefer to stay in some people’s lives. They do not want to leave such people’s lives. Some refuse to leave that environment. The reason is that they stay where they can best express themselves.

If they discover that every time the evil spirit tells you to “lose your temper” and your body begins to shake and you begin to shout and scream, they will be happy. They will invite their younger brothers to come. They will say, “We can use this person.” But if every time he says, ‘lose your temper’, and you do the wisest thing you can do to control it by keeping your mouth shut, the anger will die stillborn. And if you keep shutting up like that, eventually the demon will go and report to the headquarters, “I want to leave this place. This person is not allowing me to display my talent.”

But if you readily release yourself, they will keep using you. For example, there are some Nigerian demons you rarely find in the cities because they need illiteracy to operate. Such demons will not like to leave the village. There are decently wicked and decently deceptive demons.

I read the story of a lorry driver. His brake failed, and the vehicle was heading towards a herd of cows, beside which was a bridge. So he had the option to either crush the cows or enter the river. In his country, the cows are now regarded as gods. They are idols, not to be killed.

Unfortunately for the man, the river too was a god. So he decided to drive into the river. That kind of cow demon is not in Nigeria. It will not like to come to a country like Nigeria, where suya production is serious business. This is a very serious situation. They told Jesus, “Do not send us out of this country.”

Listen to this great truth that we read from that passage in Mark 5: Three kinds of personalities prayed.

• The demons prayed.
• When the citizens came and saw the former mad man sitting down and listening to Jesus, they begged Jesus to leave. They were afraid. They also prayed.
• The newly delivered man prayed. Jesus answered the prayers of the demons to make them clear out of the way.

Jesus answered the prayers of the citizens to get out of their land because he would not force himself on any man. But he did not answer the prayer of the newly delivered man. The man said, “Let me follow you.” Jesus replied, “No, do not follow me. Remain where you are to be a witness.”

2. The second class of satanic prayer is in Proverbs 28:9: “He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.” Abomination is one of the Bible’s strongest kinds of disapproval. So the prayer of him who turns away from hearing the law is an abomination. The positive confession of a witch, or an occultic parent, is negative and opposite in the spirit realm.

So, if you have an occultic father or occultic witch doctor as a father or a mother from the marine world and they say they are praying for you, even if the words are positive, it is the opposite that is coming to your forehead because the Bible calls such prayers abomination.

Many have received such abominable prayers on their wedding day because the people praying these prayers are evil. The words are just in the mouth, not in the heart. How can you say you are praying for somebody in the name of Jesus when you know you are a witch? Of course, that prayer is just camouflage. It is the opposite that they are putting into the person’s life.

May the Lord deliver us, in the name of Jesus.

A wife of an ambassador went and bought a Prayer Rain booklet. She was not an MFM member, but she bought the book. One day, she told her husband, ‘I am going to the market’. The man said, “Let me drop you.” So she sat by his side, brought out the book, and started to read. The man sighted the book. He stopped the car and began to cry. He said “ha! Who gave you this book? How did you get this kind of book? Do you want to kill us? Put it back in your bag.” The woman said, “Why are you agitated?” He took time and explained that he was an occultic person, and the prayers were tormenting him.

3. The third class of satanic prayers is curses issued by people under satanic influence.

Matthew 16:21–22 (KJV): “From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.”

Look at the aggressive reaction of Jesus to this.

Matthew 16:23 (KJV): “But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.”

Jesus reacted aggressively because the voice that was speaking through Peter was a curse. That voice was saying, “Jesus should not die for the sins of mankind.” Balaam, that we read about in Numbers 22, was a professional curser. God viewed the curses of Balaam and knew that the curse could pose a serious threat to Israel. So God had to intervene. The church of God and believers are at war.

Curses are in the armoury of the enemy. There are some religions that are religions of curses. Goliath issued curses against David at the warfront. Note the aggression of David as well as those curses. He did not keep quiet. He reacted aggressively. He said, “Today, I will kill you. I will feed your body to the birds of the air. I will cut off your head.” This was after Goliath had cursed him by his gods.

The aggressive reaction that men of old and saints showed to curses shows that they are very powerful. When somebody is under a curse, you just know that something is going wrong, but you cannot quite put your finger on it. The Bible says, “Jesus has redeemed us from the curse of the law.” Therefore, I am going to pray this prayer now:

I decree upon your life that any curse issued against your destiny must backfire in the name of Jesus. (a tenfold amen).

PRAYER POINTS

[Before Message]

1. Yokes of unfriendly friends, break, in the name of Jesus.
2. Stubborn powers assigned to waste me, you are liars; die in the name of Jesus.
3. Cage of my father’s house, cage of my mother’s house, I am not your candidate, break, in the name of Jesus.
4. Covens, hear the Word of the Lord: return my stolen treasure, in the name of Jesus.
5. Powers that want me to expire before my testimony appears, die, in the name of Jesus.
6. Powers disqualifying me from greatness, catch fire, in the name of Jesus.
7. My glory, kept with any idol, I recover you by fire, in the name of Jesus.

[After Message]

1. (Lay your right hand upon your head.) Powers sitting on a mat to curse me, die in the name of Jesus.
2. Utterance of wicked elders over my life, backfire, in the name of Jesus.
3. Satanic curses issued against my life, backfire in the name of Jesus.
4. Witchcraft cobwebs of nobody will favour you, backfire, in the name of Jesus.
5. Satanic prayers, challenging my shining, die in the name of Jesus. (a sevenfold amen).
