Topic: STRATEGIES TO COMMAND THE YEAR
Text: Job 38:12-13, Joshua 10:12-13, Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Matthew 16:19, Mark 11:23

Job 38:12-13 (KJV) says: “Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; and caused the dayspring to know his place; That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it?”
The Bible talks about commanding the morning and by that command, it will take hold of the ends of the earth. Then the wicked entrenched will be shaken out of it. Meaning if we do not do so, the wicked remains entrenched in the heavenlies.
Joshua 10:12-13 (KJV) says: “Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon. And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.”
This man commanded the sun and moon to stand still. A man of God issued a command, and the sun remained in place for 24 hours. It did not get dark.
Job 22:28 (KJV) says: “Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.”
I am pointing these scriptures out to you so you can know the basis of our prayers in today’s Manna Water service and the next two Manna Water services.
Isaiah 45:11 (KJV) says: “Thus saith the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me.”
I am reading you these scriptures so you can know what to do when the time comes, and so you can have the backing and authority of the scriptures to do what you need to do.
Matthew 16:19 (KJV) says, “And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven (the initiative first has to come from earth. It is when you take action that heaven will take follow it up): and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
Mark 11:23 (KJV) says, “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.”
What a powerful word from the Lord. It did not say “He may have” or “He may probably have” but “He SHALL have whatsoever he saith.”
There is a time to ask. There is a time to command. When you do not know God’s will, and you do not know what God wants to do, you can ask. But when God has already declared His will in scriptures, you now command it to happen. The Bible says, “You are blessed.” That is past tense. “You are healed. “Past tense. “You are delivered.” Past tense. “You are prosperous.” Present continuous tense.
For those kinds of things, you do not ask God to do what He has already done. You command the manifestation of what already exists in the spirit realm.
Jesus demonstrated this perfectly. When he was on the sea, he commanded the storm. Peter said, “Master, carest thou not that we perish?”
Jesus addressed the waves the way He addressed demons, “Be still.” Jesus did not beg the fig tree to die; he decreed it. Jesus did not tell sicknesses to die; he ordered them.
The Bible says, “As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves unto me. The strangers shall fade away and be afraid out of their close places.” This is the level of authority God wants you to operate in as we command the year. Anyone here who wants to speak authoritative words into the womb of this year, shout a loud hallelujah!
Joshua commanded the sun to stand still when he needed more time to complete the battle. He did not ask God politely, no. He commanded the sun and moon to stand still. The Bible records that the sun and moon stood still until the nation of Israel avenged themselves on their enemies. Joshua commanded the situation, and nature obeyed.
Elijah commanded the rain to stop falling. The same man commanded the rain to start. He declared to Ahab, “As the Lord God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall be no rain nor dew in the land, but according to my word.” So for three and a half years, rain obeyed his command. When it was time, he commanded the rain to fall, and the heavens opened.
Elijah commanded the weather and climate, and they obeyed. Jesus commanded storms, sicknesses, and death to lose their hold. Throughout the ministry of Jesus, He demonstrated the ministry of commanding. He commanded sickness to go. He commanded the leper to be cleansed. He commanded Lazarus to come forth. He commanded, and all things obeyed.
The year we are present in is heavy with a destiny you must command into manifestation. In these three meetings, take your authority and decree the end from the beginning. The Bible says, “Thou shalt decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee.”
The Bible tells us clearly that he will give us the keys of the kingdom, and whatsoever we bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatsoever we loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
Then in Isaiah 54:17, the Bible says, “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgement thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.” You will be the one to condemn the tongue rising against you.
WHAT DO WE MEAN BY COMMANDING?
- To give an order that must be obeyed.
- To direct actions with authority.
- To instruct something firmly, not as a suggestion.
- To exercise control over a situation or people.
- To rule.
- To govern.
- To lead decisively, leaving no confusion.
- To command an action to take place. You know what is supposed to be taking place, and you can see that what is taking place is not what is supposed to be taking place. So you authorise the right thing to be taking place.
- To dominate or master something.
- To enforce obedience.
- To speak with certainty.
- To wield influence that will shape decisions.
- To assert your dominion.
Job that we first read says, “Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days and caused the dayspring to know his place; That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it?” From here, we come to a conclusion that the year, the day, and the month all have ears. In short, all that God created can hear you. It is in biology you talk about living and non-living things. God’s creations have ears. Have you commanded the morning since your days…?”
The same question is coming to you today. Have you ever commanded the day? Have you given instructions to your day? Have you ever spoken to your day? If you can speak to your day, then you can speak to your month and your year, and that is why we are here for the next three Manna Water services.
WHEN YOU COMMAND YOUR YEAR:
- The year will obey you.
- The year will carry out your instructions.
- The year will work in your favour.
- That year will work against your enemies.
- The year will refuse to carry evil instructions against you.
- The year will prosper you.
- The year will bless you.
- It will make you a better person, not a bitter person.
- The year will yield its abundance unto your life.
- It will always deliver good and great things into your life.
- Each day of the year will be a good one for you.
- Your heavens over the year will open.
- You become a terror to the kingdom of darkness.
- Heaven and earth will back you up.
- Anywhere you appear, evil spirits will disappear.
- Wickedness shall be shaken out of it.
The Bible makes us understand that “we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against powers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in heavenly places.” There is wickedness above our heads, wickedness on the earth, in the sea, and under the earth. That is why the Bible says “the whole world lieth in wickedness”.
- I am praying for someone here today: the wickedness of the wicked, assigned against your destiny, shall expire in the name of Jesus.
MFM has one small book called “Command the Morning”. That book has blessed millions. From the books MFM has written, the bestseller has been ‘Prayer Rain’. But now, that small book has overtaken Prayer Rain, because people have realised the power inside it. Some religions wake up very early in the morning and pour enchantments into the heavenlies. So if you do not rise up and command the morning, they take the morning from you. They are entrenched in the heavenlies, so when you command the morning, they will be shaken out of it. The morning is the gateway of the day, and wickedness is entrenched, so shake them out of it.
You can command, for example, that “this year hear me and hear me well: refuse to harbour evil against me.” You can point your hand to earth and say “O earth, earth, earth: you shall not swallow me this year.” You can tell the year, “You, this year, you must favour me by fire”. You can shout “the sun shall not smite me by day, nor the moon by night.” Very soon, the time shall come when I will ask you to do the commanding. These are aggressive prayers, not the type you pray and stand in one place. You have to walk about.
WHY DO WE NEED TO COMMAND THE YEAR?
- Time carries spiritual assignment, so you must command it to align with God’s purpose for your life.
- It activates divine favour over your life.
- Uncommanded seasons are vulnerable to spiritual attack.
- Commanding positions you as a ruler in your spiritual domain.
- The enemy respects only those who take charge spiritually.
- Divine opportunities respond to prophetic declarations.
- Commanding the year invites God’s supernatural intervention in your life.
- Silence allows destiny thieves and delay to operate.
- Faith-filled direction moves heaven to operate with your plans.
- it prevents manipulation of the year by powers of darkness.
- The Bible makes you understand your words carry authority to shape your life.
- Spiritual clarity is enforced throughout the year.
- You have victory over stagnation and loss.
- It positions you for supernatural breakthroughs.
- Potential threats are turned into testimonies.
This is why we are here today.
HOW DO WE COMMAND THE YEAR?
- Enforce spiritual authority over the year from its foundation. Do not wait till the middle of the year; start now.
- Seize the gate of the year before the enemy captures it.
- Dismantle every satanic agenda programmed into the year. Do it now. Do not wait till it becomes a big building.
- Establish dominion over the spiritual calendar of the year.
- Break every altar speaking against your name in this year. They might have spoken last year. Bind them from speaking this year.
- Dislodge the powers already positioned to resist your progress.
- Capture the spiritual airspace governing your destiny.
